Kirby Smart is your coach, you are in the East. We have a former shrimp boat captain who coached us to a Natty and won National Coach of the Year.

It's been 40 years since Georgia has won a natty and they only won that one by playing a Notre Dame team that was barely in the top 10 and ducking the higher ranked contenders. Anyone in the top 5 would have smoked them.

Closet champions, that's all that team was.

my

WTF are you talking about? Nobody "ducked"
anyone.

Notre Dame was ranked 2nd when the agreed to play in the Sugar Bowl. They then proceeded to lose to USC about 3 days later.

Bowls back then we're always jumping the gun and scrambling to get the highest ranked teams and frequently extended invites before the reg season was finished.

Pittsburgh was the best team that year but lost to FSU. UGA should've played #2 FSU or #3 pitt instead of fringe top 10 ND.

They played the HIGHEST ranked team at the time the bowl invites went out you freakin
dumbass.ND was the 2nd ranked team at the time and woulda stated there had they not lost to USC.

Do you not understand how the bowls worked
back then?

The SAME thing happened the next year when
the Sugar extended the invite to the highest ranked team available (Pitt) before the regular season is over and then
Pitt loses to PSU the last week of the season.

Do you not understand how bowls worked back then?

Georgia had that natty won before devonta Smith broke that coverage. They were a last second loss against Alabama in the SEC championship game from being back in the playoffs, and they have consistently been a top 5 program.

I mean Alabama also had it won until our kicker pulled an Alabama kicker thing and missed at 36 yard fg

And you have no idea that Georgia had no say in who they played, do you?

The Bowls sent out invitations. They have never allowed the #1 ranked team dictate who they play.
