And they all get scrapes when UF has it going. I lived in Florida in the past, it isn't close with fan support from any other school. Kids do not have their grandparents telling them to go to Bama, UGA, AU, UT or OSU. The Miami kids are the exception, but the talent level for the rest of the state makes up for it. Once UF gets their shite together, the SECE better look out. How they have fricked this up for the last 7 years boggles the mind.

Bama has 4 commits from Ga for 2019. All are four stars. Likely at least one of whom UGA would have committed. But there is no real proof of that. UA's top ranked 2019's are not from Georgia.

How exactly does it benefit UGA to play Clemson home and home?
It benefits UGA only if UGA wins.

Still has recruiting benefits for Clemson just by having us on the schedule...pretty obvious why Dabo is
pushing hard for it.

“Getting their shite together” is a vague idea, and it’s ignores that Recruiting is very dependent upon the recruiter. A great recruiter is gonna win plenty of battles with an average recruiter. For that reason, Each of the teams I listed are gonna be trouble for uf in recruiting, especially if fsu “gets their shite together” like Miami is. The out of state schools will cherry pick.

And it’s obvious why jim wants us to play each other: It increases the odds of one of us not making the playoffs.

Not even close. Do you think it helped UGA to play in the final against Bama? Hard to over-estimate how much.
People like to see exciting competitive games. Nobody but the hard core Georgia fan is going to watch Georgia and Citadel regardless of who wins. Nobody but gamblers and Georgia and what few Vandy fans there are watch UGA-Vandy. That championship game will be talked about forever. I remember, and so do most old southern fans, Danny Ford squatting on the sideline and Vince contorting himself into all sorts of gyrations with the UGA and Clemson games and can't tell you who won a single one. So both schools won since they got what ultimately pays off, exposure.

Alabama gets recruits from all over the country, and so does Georgia. Most really god schools do.
Yep. Thanks for Harry Miller, Georgia. He's going to be one hell of a center (most likely) or guard at Ohio State.
RE: The bolded.
Perhaps for Georgia but not as much as Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame. Georgia is still more of a regional recruiter which is fine. They have incredible talent in state and the region is very good for talent.
To illustrate. Georgia has 14 players from states that don't border Georgia. Ohio State has 47.

Which only highlights how immensely UGA has, and will continue to, underachieve as a program.

Spurrier was not a great recruiter. Muschamp recruited well enough to keep McElwain around longer than he should. The key to schools like UF(same with USC), is to recruit players you should get within 150 miles of campus and find a good QB. UF hasn't done that in over 8 years. Mullen will have a good QB.

Slow down bud. You are taking this crap way too seriously. And giving yourself and all of us way too much credit.
UGA vs Kentucky, give me a break. But the UGA vs AU games were some high old times. 500 folks, 250 screaming and 250 pizzing and moaning after plays. And that is what is needed, more of those type games and fewer of the mismatches. Too many of those boring, mismatch types are why attendance is down.

I would say the opposite...if those so called top players don’t show up and are coached well, people gonna lose their lid and someone is bound to get fired..
Posted on 7/21/18 at 8:54 pm to jimdog
I'm not sure it's the easiest. It's a good job but....they'd have more titles if it was that great. Georgia's always claimed this, just like Louisiana and Florida, but they don't consistently compete nationally. I've always thought the whole premise was overblown.

It is easier to recruit to teams talent rich states. It is still hard to manage the program and coach the kids. Plus lots of those three star recruits grow into five star bodies.

Well, maybe he was a great recruiter, or he had an advanced offensive system that ran the sec in the early 90’s. He fell off after 1996. There is no guarantee Mullen will have a good Qb. The key to signing great talents is to be a great recruiter.

Yeah because every prospect from Georgia staying home
There are some dominant D1 programs who recruit Georgia hard

I put our in-state talent up against anyones, including georgia. Theres a good reason why saban recruits Louisiana extremely hard. He knows what the deal is. Not only does it help him win titles, it scares the shite out of him thinking about LSU keeping all of our homegrown studs at LSU. Don't kid yourself.
