Same. Eventually it could get out of control and totally bankrupt the sport. All these players and schools forget where the money comes from. It isn’t from some limitless fund. It’s from working people like me and you who spend our earned money to support our favorite teams. With the way things are going, you will start seeing people keep their money. Tickets are more expensive than ever. Merch is more expensive than ever. Tailgating is more expensive than ever. Players don’t stick around and transfer or they opt out of any post season play that isn’t for the natty. At some point, people will stop supporting their teams because the intangibles that separated the college game from the NFL will be gone.

I’ve spent a ton of money the last few years. Was it worth it? Yes. Is it worth it going forward, I don’t think it is. Shits too expensive.

Eta: and it’s not Eventually going to get out of control: it is out of control. Almost every aspect of it.

This may be true. Who would that include, though? If you could have your pick, what would be your top three?

A cheaper QB, couple of high dollar WRs and a high dollar DL.

What I meant was what would be your QB wish list for $4 million? There aren't proven QBs out there. Which is maybe why Beck thinks he can do this. I'm not sure the reporting is accurate, but I could also see it in this current model.

Bluff will be called. No other program is forking over that kind of cash to him unless he brings Bowers with him.

I went to one game this year. The 2 tickets and parking pass cost me $300. That’s before food and drinks or anything else. It’s ridiculous.

This is disgusting. NIL is out of control. Name, Image, and Likeness should be profiting from gear sold with your name on the back... not demanding an outrageous 'salary' as a merc for any team stupid enough to pay the largest bag.

I gave it to you. Take Dillon Gabriel or someone else and spend the money elsewhere

Well I was talking about playoff games, and national championships. $300 is still too much for 2 tickets and a parking pass to a regular season game. Paid $250 for a single ticket to the Mizzou home game this year. It was 50 yard line though. Parking pass was $300 but needed it right next to stadium cause dad is handicapped. You can’t buy a ticket for under $100 to any game it seems. If you can, it’s just a shitty cream puff game and you’re still spending at least $300-400 round trip depending on where you’re coming from.

Georgia seems to have a plug and play system I not sure it matters who the QB is they will have success.

Yeah, I’ll never have that kind of disposable income.

So, you see my point. It’s all ridiculous. Attending a football game shouldn’t be a considerable financial decision.

We contribute almost nothing. It is TV revenue, which is limited but also arrives like clockwork and jock sniffing donors who are either going to buy access to players or send most of the money to the IRS. They will claim its a business expense and to many it is about like you and me buying dinner for the wife...

There is a credit union in our area with about 10-12 billboards around town with current UGA players on them. They never advertised like that before. If they are getting any bang for that buck that money is there every year....because getting bang for their buck means making money, not costing money, and what it costs buys someone access to players so they can "be part of the team". It wouldn't be sustainable by me if I had the money cause frick them but I ain't a jock sniffer who has the revenue and is either going to pay taxes on it or claim it is an advertising expense when I am actually buying access.

Mike Griffith is a clown. Finebaum brings him on his show to make fun of him.

Please don’t use anything Griff says as reputable reporting.

this is true....and Griffiths plays the part well.

He has been a beat writer for UGA for a while and has reported lots of breaking shite, almost none of it ever came to fruition and when it did it either wasn't breaking, it was well known, or it was substantiated by multiple sources almost immediately. This one has not been substantiated by any other source. It may be true, it may not, the only thing we know for certain is Griffiths won't be the first to know....

This won't go over well since Uga doesn't play that kind of NIL game. At least as been told here by their fans.

You have evidence of this with KJ Bolden.

He wanted $1 million to sign with UGA. Kirby told him he would get that if/when he starts.

Bolden committed to FSU instead.

Now Bolden is talking to $$Auburn$$.

Surprising after he laid an egg in the title game and got UGA bounced from the playoffs.

Against the 2 best defenses Beck faced this year (Bammer and Aubbie) Beck had more turnovers (2) than passing TDs (1)
