The psyche of a dawg fan is interesting. Why do they need so much affirmation?
They didn't get enough attention as kids. That's why they have to bark at everyone who isn't a dawg fan,

Have any of those teams played a defense with a pulse besides UGA?
no because according to the standards that are being used in this thread with offenses, UGA is the ONLY defense with a pulse in the entire country.

Truth is they're not accustomed to being out front thus they don't know how to handle success. It's really not unusual especially in this day and time.
The off week on a message board is a perfect time and place to be discussing preconceived but possibly inaccurate notions about football teams.

There isn't one, so why do we need to play one to be legitimate? No matter who we play they will not have an offense as dynamic as 2019 LSU or 2020 Alabama. It simply does not exist this year.
Ohio State is number #1 in overall offense this year.....and it is not even close. 2 all-american WRs in Olave and Wilson with Smith Njigba ( who broke Texas 6A records) who will all probably have 1000 yd. receiving seasons . Backups are two 5* and Marvin harrison JR. RB with Treveyon Henderson and a stable of others have been dominant. Stroud releases the ball very quickly and if given time is close to unstopable. We will see in the last half of the season how good they are because they play 3 top 10 teams and probably another in the Coference championship if they get that far.

And they are not close to LSU or Alabama. (From 2019 ans 2020)
Even if thy were it seems people think anybody that does not play OSU does not have a legit defense, which is really faulty logic. I mean, they may not even make the playoffs since they already have one loss. A slip up anywhere (Michigan State or Michigan are both undefeated) would certainly put them out.
I mean, I get the rest of your post and agree. I guess I just think it silly for people to keep pointing out we have not played anybody on the level of 2019 LSU or 2020 Alabama offenses when there are none in the country.

Interestingly enough I have never been to that game. I'll have to make it down sometime before I die. (At my age I'd better hurry!

We have played Kentucky twice with the SEC East title on the line and dominated both times. Who chokes?

Georgia since you haven't won a national championship in your chosen sport in 40 years.
I don't think this one is up for debate

Florida smoked this Georgia defense to the tune of 571 yards and 44 points last time we played. This defense will finally get a real test.

Georgia hasn't played an offense that's a threat in the vertical passing game.
Look up the passing stats for the teams them have played. Only Auburn ranked 49th is in the top 50 of passing yards per game.

I think the biggest question (if there are any) is how they'll play against a team that can really throw the ball without needing an attached run game. Arkansas and Kentucky have to run the ball to open up their pass game, and Georgia is extremely difficult to do that against.
30. Arkansas (154.55)
45. Kentucky (146.55)
70. South Carolina (137.78)
87. Auburn (131.47)
118. Clemson (108.06)
125. Vanderbilt (103.04)
But, as been discussed 100 times before, there are only a handful of offenses that appear to really be scary throwing the football without needing a great run game to open it up (Ohio State......?) and then a few that are very good but not elite (Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma).
Georgia has completely wiped out pretty much everyone running the ball (in non-garbage time). Georgia has been good, but not overpowering compared to other games played against opponents passing attacks. Arkansas, Kentucky, Auburn, South Carolina all have had 1-2 other games in which their passing efficiency numbers were worse than UGA. Clemson had similar results against NC State. So, splitting hairs here, but that's what you do when you are talking about someone being an all-time great defense.
