Early on richt is an entirely different subject. We are discussing old richt. The one who struggled to finish top 25 way too often. The one who struggled to develop guys into draft picks. Compare Kirby to that guy.

I'm comparing the first 4 years of Richt with the first 4 years of Kirby. How would anything else be fair? Also, for all those dumping on Richt in his final years in Athens--that 2012 team was 1 play away from beating an incredible Alabama team in Atlanta and likely winning a natty against Notre Dame.

Because we are discussing the program Kirby inherited, not the one richt inherited.

That team was an exception for old richt. Too bad for his terrible roster mgmt.

So we are only looking as his failures, his successes don't count. And for Kirby, we are only counting his successes while not counting his failures. I think I've got it. Man alive, dawg fans.

There were multiple the 2nd half of his career.TWO division titles from '08 to '15? ZERO SEC Championships? ZERO P6 bowls? 0-2 vs McElwain? Losing to Muschamp
in '14 with potentially one of his best teams?

Kirby has had far more success in 4 years than
CMR did in his last 7 and really isn't close.

Please,he woulda lasted 6 years at Bama.
UGA were FAR more patient with em than Bama fans ever would have.

Not to mention all UGA had to do to win the SEC CG and possibly the NC in 2011 was not punt to Mathieu. LSU had zero first downs in the 1st half

I stand corrected. Who knew an anti-UGA post would be so well-received on here. I’m shocked

Who said it didnt count? Point is, Exceptions dont prove the rule. One strong year doesnt erase the other disappointments:

The 3 seasons before that were not good, and the 3 seasons that followed that werent anything special either, especially the 2015 team.

hat team was largely made up of Richt recruited players.

Yep, but Kirby plugged a lot of holes that were around that core group. Our QB, RT, and RG never played for Richt. 5 of our top 6 pass catchers never played for Richt. Punt return guy never played for Richt. Our starting safety never played for Richt, along with some other defenders. Some of the guys that did play for Richt included a walk on and a low level 3 star.

Unbelievably dumb but I thought we had a good game plan in the 1st. Our damn WR's dropped multiple passes including 2 TD'S

I thought the onside kick was pretty ballsy

Yep, we had more points than passing yards; just a bizarre game. 2012 was a better shot for Richt, 2013 I remember y'all had a ton of injuries and after that season things kind of tapered off I guess

Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades, unfortunately for Kirby. Enjoy that moral victory. That trophy resides in Tuscaloosa, not Athens.

Yeah. And since you went to Walmart and bought a Bama t-shirt, that makes you a CFB expert.

UGA 2018: the fake FG at LSU, then not continuing to pound Holyfield after he gashed us. Then the fake punt in the Championship.

That’s worse than anything Les ever did.
