The best thing about the SEC is that you don't have to deal with Texas fans. I don't mind the ones that actually went to the school - it's the ignorant t-shirt fans that wouldn't even know what college is that are a pain in the arse

Okay cool. Hook 'em.

Okay, Hookem fans the following are facts

Your DL is terrible - every single Texas fan I know says as much
You lost to Maryland
You lost to WVU as well
You lost to OkSU
You struggled to beat lowly Tulsa
You struggled with Baylor, and would have lost without sip officials
You struggled with Kansas
You struggled with Tech
The only teams you beat all year with a winning record are ISU and OU.
You lost to OU when it actually mattered

Now opinion -

Translation - you just aren't any good. You are as "average" as the A&M team you poke fun at. An A&M team with a vastly superior defense and SoS. The only way Texas is even competitive is if UGA just doesn't care - which is possible

Texas in New Orleans in the Sugar Bowl is awesome.

Texas fans are tremendously stoked. Not fathomable after week 1.

Given that we haven't played GA for a long time, and given that there is respect for GA, and given that Texas will travel well, this will be fun.

It also means their half of the stadium will be empty shortly after halftime

Although Kris Boyd was 1st-Team All-Big 12, I don't trust that guy in coverage. There is a reason he leads the Big 12 in pass breakups... he gets picked on A LOT.

He get's beat on a slant and go at least two times a game. He either commits PI, or gives up a big pass. I have no idea how people have him projected to be a day 2 pick.

Yup. It baffles me. Not trying to pile on the kid, but losing him this year could be addition by subtraction for the secondary.

And Ryan Finley will force aggy into submission by the 4th quarter when he throws for 400 yards and 4 TDs against that atrocious pass defense.

Now move along aggy and let the big boys talk at the big boy table.

In all seriousness, didn't UT Austin only beat Kansas by 7?

I come in peace UGA fans.

What are some of your thoughts on the matchup?

One on-the-field matchup I'm really looking forward to is Collin Johnson vs Deandre Baker.

Collin is our 6'6 behemoth of a WR who has really made significant strides this season. He has gotten better at using his big frame to come down with jump balls that Ehlinger tends to throw his way (some are back-shoulder type throws, others are just prayers). However, if Collin really is thinking about making the jump to the NFL, he's going to need to prove that he can do it against THE BEST CB in the nation.

Also, what is UGA's NB situation like? Lil'Jordan is our slot guy, and he has put up some monster numbers for us this season. Another big body guy who isn't your prototypical Big 12 WR.

I'm honestly not sure what to expect. Texas has been a part of 9 games decided by 7 points or fewer this year (my heart). Regardless, looking forward to NOLA and being a part of a NY6 bowl. Not many of us would have predicted this after Week 1.

While many could've said it in a more polite manner, I do agree that if UGA brings it's A game it shouldn't be close. That said, it's gonna be hard for us to do that when we had our sites set on something bigger and came very close to attaining it. I haven't seen your team play other than the last half of your championship game this year.
Last year, I thought you did about the best job against OU and Mayfield that anyone was able to do for a full game in terms of slowing them down. Herman does a good job of game planning and finding success with whatever matchup he feels gives him the best ad.
What three games would you suggest I watch based on this critieria. 1) The game where your team looked the best and played closest to their potential. 2) A couple of games where your team looked overall about the way they look on most Saturdays on both sides of the ball.

Just from a statistical standpoint the team you most remind me of is UF. Your yards per play average on defense is very similar vs. Power 5 teams and your YPP on offense is worse than their, about 20 spots down, but still within range to say you may be about the same with them ability wise. They gave us a good game well into the fourth quarter before we blew it open with a couple of late TDs.

If we come out flat we could very well lose this game. One thing though that I think might be a motivating factor is to show the country and playoff committee that they got it wrong by bringing our A game and destroying a team OU struggled with twice.

Herman was the guy I wanted to replace Richt. I wasn't anti Smart, just didn't know how he'd be as a head coach and wanted someone who had proven he could do the job. I think we'll both be happy with what we have for years to come.

Texas has seen better passing attacks in OU, WVU, and even OSU.

Uga has a more efficient qb than wvu and osu. Our qb also had a higher passer rating than baker mayfield when we played last year.

You will next year, when you play Texas A&M. Texas top end talent is mostly OOS players since Jimbo Fisher arrived, though they did sign a good DB class recently.. Also, you alreadyl see it throughout the SEC, as the raid of Texas talent is real, especially on the LSU and Bama squads

Texas doesn't really get any top-end talent from Texas anymore, which is why they are loading up their OOC schedule with SEC teams in a desperate attempt to regain the relevancy they lost

I believe UGA and Bama are getting insanely geeked up for this game. Why? Because if both of them skull frick the top two Big 12 teams it sends a message to the committee that could turn the Big 12 into the Big 10 in the eyes of the committee.

These two games will have huge implications going forward on whether to accept a 2 loss sec team over a 1 loss Big 12 champ. If both of the SEC teams murder them it will be difficult for the committee to justify again.

The only chance Texas has is if UGA doesn't give a shite about the game

Not a Dog fan, but UGA'll stomp a mudhole in Texas' arse, IF the SECCG didn't break them.

Bud, no one is talking to you. Maybe start a NC State Taxslayer Bowl thread. Should get tons of chatter.

Especially as guys like Anthony Cook and Jalen Green get more experience too. I think Cook is going to be a really solid player.

If we can tackle LJ, which is a tall task especially considering our safety’s desire to hit without wrapping up, I think we’ll be fine. Keontay has such good vision, but I’m hopeful our speed will keep him in the backfield. Ehlinger is obviously different than any other QB we’ve played this year. He played a really good season outside of the first two games and Kansas (I know he was hurt here).

I think Texas is going to struggle in run defense. I’m just not sure the linebackers are fast enough to chase down Swift and Holyfield, and Foster and Sterns (in large part because they’re freshmen) have taken some poor angles this year.

It couldn't have been because Mayfield threw the ball all over the place and down the field last year where Fromm for the most part throws quick slants and 10-15 yard out patterns or back shoulder throws.

Texas is baby soft. Georgia is going to bully them like they haven't been bullied since 2009.
