Alabama fans ask yourself if your best days are in front of you or behind you?

2012 SEC Championship game for me. It was a long time coming for UGA to get to that point and they went toe to toe with Alabama and came up 1-2 plays short....possible even one second short. There was nothing about that era of UGA football to suggest that UGA was on the verge being considered a possible dynasty....UGA was very good, as other teams have been, but there was no indication they were on the brink of what they have become today. That was not the case in 2017. In 2017 it was obvious UGA was a different type of program than anything they have ever been. When Alabama won that game it was devastating but there was some comfort in the fact that it was not going to be long before UGA was more than they had ever been....it was very evident. 2012 was, for me, more "painful" because there was no sign that UGA had become a perennial favorite to compete at the highest level - 2012 was a small glimmer of light in years of darkness, 2017 was a harbinger of things to come....

Great response, AwgustaDawg. From the 2012 loss, it wasn't really until 2017 that Georgia came into their own on a consistent basis. 10 win seasons here and there are okay but, they don't count as far as being top level.

I understand your point about feeling different about the team and feeling something had changed from the same old Georgia middling seasons.

Imo 2012, is the worst of those posted.

2021 isn't posted - was the worst overall in the moment imo - that team was different and everyone knew it. That they lost in the SECCG felt wrong, like the ghost of Mark Richt and his annual inexplicable loss had come back to haunt us yet again. It felt like if a team that was murdering everyone STILL came up short that we would always come up short.

You are rapidly becoming the most annoying poster on this forum, even for a lifeless alter, which we all know you are. Is that what you are trying to become?

The one national championship game loss. No win makes up for losing in the national championship game.

UGA losing the SECCG didn't feel bad at all in 2021 because we won the national championship that year. Similarly winning the SECCG in the 2017 season didn't make up for losing the national title game that year.

I imagine the SEC title for Bama in 2021 doesn't make up for losing the national title that year either.

Prior to Kirbs establishing his program, UGA was a cycle program, capable of challenging every 5 years. We were very good in ‘02, ‘07, ‘12 and ‘17.

The ‘12 SECCG hurt because you knew it would be years till we would mount another challenge. Truth be told, despite early momentum, Bama ran over us late in that game. The last drive felt like a bit if a miracle, till it t wasn’t.

Nothing cut as deep as ‘17. Never trailed in that one, had it in hand and blew it in spectacular fashion.

Seemingly lost in all the focus of calls that went against us was Bama missing a very makable game-winning FG at the end of regulation.

At that point it seemed logical to conclude that UGA might never win one. Snake-bit for the ages. The natty in ‘21 was as much relief as joy.

2021 Natty win started the demise of Bama and Saban.

Hasn’t had a Natry since.

Mission completed. SEC can thank us

On that other thread, even other Bama fans were saying how annoying you are. When members of your own fanbase are putting you down, its time to stop posting so much alter....or maybe just go away. Just trying to save you some embarassment, dude. Your welcome...

Why are you reacting so negatively? This is just a good mannered, honest, friendly thread with a little added jabbing to spice it up.

Stop taking your presence here so seriously; it's not that serious.

Georgia has never had any sustained success over any meaningful amount of time. They couldn't even beat Alabama last season and Alabama is just a shell of its former self.

Smart looks physically shot and downtrodden and seems to be losing a step. He's got maybe 2 more years left in him, and those years won't be what Georgia fans now demand.

Dogs have unreasonable expectations and he feels that pressure heavily and it's affecting his appearance and his coaching ability. He's rattled.

The answer is 2012. But that’s all a wash now. No Georgia fan is upset after the last 2 back 2 back natty’s. And everyone knows what would have happened last year.
