To put it another way…….Stenson ain’t walkin’ out that tunnel!

Carson's first 5 games are significantly better than Stetson's.
They are the best 5 game start for any UGA QB in history.

The rest of your post is masterbation.
I haven't referenced previous years. I hope it felt good.

That’s because you are having some success.
I think this Kentucky team is probably the best 1 yet. Now go win and shut up the nay sayers

We will have to have an effective passing game to have any chance to win. I think that should be obvious.

I don't expect Davis to run for 280.

Which team was it that allow Davis to run for 280 yards? If you think UGA isn't that good to defend the run, then I think you need to stop posting things that a top team would ignore the run completely.

Leary can pass?

In games against P5 opponents he had 205 yards vs Vandy and 69 yards vs UF. 51% and 47% completions in those two games. 2TD and 2INT.

That doesn't really suggest a competent passer.

I'm pretty sure we'll pick Leary as the lesser threat. I think every other team would do the same.

Have you ever heard of keeping the pass play from getting out at games that aren't needed against weaker teams and saving the better ones and throw more passes against better teams to throw the other team's defense off.

You do realize that only 4 conference teams have thrown for fewer yards than Kentucky.

Congrats on being grouped with Payton Thorne, Will Rogers, Jalen Milroe, and KJ Jefferson.

What do they all have in common? They all have lost at least one game.

UGA has some of the same coaches. Lanning is gone, for one.

The Xs and Os might be the same, but the Jimmys and Joes aren't.

The Jimmy's and Joe's are not the same for certain but they also ain't a bunch of 2 and 3 stars and prefferred walk ons....UGA is very talented. It will be a dog fight, UK could very well pull off the upset....UGA is due for one based on CFB history in general and UGA history in particular. That being said I doubt seriously if UKs running game from the UF game is typical and I know that UG's running D from the Auburn game is HIGHLY unlikely to be repeated...which means UK will need a passing game and that has been hard to come by. UGA struggles with eliter passing games and mobile QBs. UK is a mirror image of UGA with slightly less talent. They are not what UGA has struggled with in years. They may this week, but odds are not good that they will...

I'm not saying that the sky is falling or that UGA is overmatched.

What I am saying is that referencing the team from two years ago as an indicator of what will happen in this game is ridiculous.

You are spot on. This is UGAs biggest test thus far this season and may be the biggest regular season test of all. UK is a very good football team. Well coached, physical and talented. I do not think they are as talented as UGA and are slightly less deep than UGA.

The problem is UK passed the ball against their cupcakes, which makes your theory pretty unlikely.

That and completion percentage isn't about play calling. 50% and below completion percentages mean the QB isn't hitting the pass plays called, not that the play caller isn't calling pass plays.

What's funny is we are playing quite a few walk-ons and 3 stars.

Mekhi Mews is a walk on. So is cash jones. Both are getting significant snaps. Walk on Dan Jackson is playing a ton as well. 3-star WR Dillon Bell is having to play tons of snaps at RB. Ladd McConkey was a 3-star. So was Rara Thomas.

Not really arguing your point, but it's funny how many "lesser talent" guys are huge contributors for UGA this year.

Leary has a 57.3% completion rate. He can barely pass.

Problem hasn't been on Leary's end IMO.

We got our best researchers working on a solution to the WR drop problem.

I don't think they have invented a solution to the problem that the UGA DBs are going to be.
We have the 3 best safeties in college football and what looks to be a legit shut down corner (so far).

Look, until Georgia loses, I'm not going to pick them to lose.

Solid UK team and a seemingly weaker UGA team compared to the last two years notwithstanding, until you do it, you haven't done it.

It really is and unfortunately it may well be the reason we have struggled against what would appear to be lesser opponents and not the same reason we struggled last year against a couple of lesser opponents in Mizzooo and to a lesser extent Kent State. Coupled with injuries we are indeed playing a pile of guys who were not highly recruited.

The biggest issue so far is lack of depth at running back and the lack of experience at QB and WR (Dom Lovett and Ra Ra Thomas combined with no McConkey for 4 weeks).

All of that improves with time.
Throw Amarius Mims back out at right tackle and the line depth/familiarity improves.

Absolutely. McConkey looked pretty good coming back last week. To control our own destiny gotta make it past Vandy with out a loss and no more serious injuries. Do that and we may be on our way again...

Regarding my reference to the past…..

Each year, each team is different. Players graduate, new ones arrive. Hence trying to say your team is “great” because they were last year is ludicrous. Each year a team succeeds or fails on the merits of that particular year. So - drop the ad hominem of past success. It is boring and irrelevant.

As for Kentucky’s passing…. I wonder how many realize that Kentucky’s first touchdown last week was - a pass from Leary. It’s not the quality or the precision or quantity of the pass…..but whether they result in scores.

Georgia is in for a game, just don’t try and convince me that they will destroy Kentucky……based on past years.

To put it another way…….Stenson ain’t walkin’ out that tunnel!

That's a nice diatribe and everything, but as long as Kirby Smart is the coach at Georgia, then the past is a factor and the past does matter to some extent.
