For such an “underachieving” program, UGA sure is generating a lot of interest from Bama fans.

IMO Pickens is somewhere around a 3rd-4th round pick coming off an ACL tear.

Eh, he was pretty close to being a day one pick before the injury. He's not falling that far because of an ACL a year before the draft.

Well as a bama fan, pretty obvious Kirby is the next best recruiter to Saban (which is annoying haha). He just can’t coach like him.

Also this Pickens injury is worse than the waddle injury was to bama. Waddle is great but I think Pickens means more to UGA. Not as much depth.

Agree to disagree

Burton is a better receiver.
Cant do what pickens does best as well as pickens. But he can do much more at a higher level. Prettt much the entire route tree.

UGA loaded up in the 2019 and 2020 classes at WR. And we have a full TE/RB room will complementing skillsets in the passing game.

Pickens will be missed as he draws safety attention. But so can Arian Smith. We will still be able to manipulate coverage to get guys open.

No offense but not one first round pick in the group besides Pickens. Not sure you can say “stacked” without elite talent.

You clearly didn't watch Burton last season. Dude put up 200 yards against MSU with 2 TD's.

Averaged 15 yards per catch.

Also, Blaylock when healthy is a first round talent.

Xavier Truss at left tackle, Jamaree Sayer at left guard, Warren Ericson at center, Justin Shaffer at right guard, and Warren McClendon at right tackle.

Has been the order so far. Like I said still early. But if Truss starts...yikes.

Agreed on Truss. Hopefully former five star Broderick Jones is able to push for a starting spot there. Latest word has been that he's doing very well in pass blocking, but needs more development when it comes to run blocking.

If LT gets worked out, the rest of the line is good to go. Salyer at LG is ideal. Ericson at C is good. Shaffer at RG is fine, but he'll need to hold off some youngsters to keep it. McClendon had a solid first year at RT, so no reason to think he won't continue to improve.

Pickens at 75% is not a starting caliber SEC WR.

Strong disagree.

His hands, catch radius, and body control are elite. That's valuable in certain situations despite a knee not being 100%.

Wow. Bold statement. Just don’t see it if comparing to Pickens.

Burton is solid but will be 2-3 round.

In terms of being a receiver and doing everything that needs to be done he is. Pickens is A+ in some areas and dominates those but Burton is a more complete WR.

Kids played 1 year and you can already tell where he's going in 2-3 years

He's replaceable if UGA is willing to actually become a modern offense. You have a 5 star QB with experience. He should be able to elevate the level of play of his receivers next year.

This.

There will be added pressure on JT and Monken to make the scheme work to replace the advantages that Pickens natural ability gave the offense.

You clearly are a dawg fan lol. MSU defense was pretty pedestrian. We’ll definitely see this year what he can do.

This is the number 1 sign of low intelligence on the board nowadays.

What if I told you that Georgia threw passes of 25+ yards in the air (deep balls) more than any team in the SEC in 2020, and even more so with JT at QB?

Maybe you should try watching the games instead of spewing the same shite for 3 years.

It's amazing how many people want to talk shite about UGA but don't know anything about our team.

LSU fans are still salty about Burton. There was a thread about him a couple months ago and they still saying he was gonna ruin his career in Kirby’s 1970s offense.

Don’t get me wrong, Burton is a stud. But your wrong. Haha What game outside of MSU says he is better than Pickens?

My opinion is based more on UGA history of WR’s than Burton lol

I'm catching heat from a few on here (not you) but this is essentially all I'm arguing. A program at UGA's level of recruiting ability should be able to have a functional offense with or without Pickens. So yea, the offense may need to adjust but they have the players to do it. So if the offense isn't up to par this season, blame the coaches for not adjusting, not the Pickens injury.

To be fair, 2020 is the first season UGA has had an OC capable of scheming WR's open. I'm expecting that aspect of the offense to improve this year with a full spring and a settled QB1.

Unfortunate with the injuries, but a guy with his kind of injuries is not going first round.
