I think the biggest matchup will be the Kentucky D (9th) in the nation against Florida's O (9th) in the nation. To go a little further Florida's rushing O is 3rd in the nation. Kentucky's rushing D is 21st in the nation.

I'd be interested in what other fans feel will be the key to the game. I'm looking forward to and expecting a spirited game from both teams.

Like I said in other threads, we have to avoid turnovers at all cost. Can't have 3 a game like we have averaged up to now or we lose big.

Our D isn't that good overall, but you will be the best offense we have played.

I mean, it could be a close game, but Kentucky has to play way better than they have the first 4 games, and protect the ball.

Commonwealth will be lit bigly. The atmosphere will be great.

Florida is clearly the better team.

We cannot turn the ball over - both teams +/- isn’t impressive but our is fricking terrible.

Trenches are gonna win the game. Advantage FLorida based on the Bama game.

27-17 FLorida.

I'm not trying to talk smack and feel UK is playing better ball than last year. Besides the TO's that have been killing you and if you continue that then your luck will run out. Against us? Not sure but eventually. The meat of our seasons are starting.

I'd think a night game environment is awesome. The game against Tennessee was rocking. Having full stadiums is a pleasant surprise. It certainly adds to the home teams mojo.

I don't bet but I might have to start with that line. This game won't be close

Even if we've won all our games we've got a lot to clean up.

Are we talented enough to beat Florida if we play clean? Absolutely.

Based on what I've seen out of us these first four games do I expect that? frick no.

Bump.

Come on Wildcats. Let’s talk football.

I’m interested in how Florida will attack the Kentucky defense. We have been more of a ground and pound team and I wonder how teams will defend that. With each game more teams will see our tendencies and adjust.

Defensively I would think Kentucky will try to air it out. How is your passing game? We can’t seem to get even basic coverage figured out. Our front 7 seem to be pretty consistent and I hope they can hold up.

Give me some insight on what you think the keys to the game will be.

Stoops is a run first guy, and we have 2 of the best backs in the country, but one has fumbleitis really bad.

Levis to Robinson will have to happen a lot for us to win.

Turnovers. We have been the nation's worst. Has to stop. I think we have to keep the score fairly low to win. If we can keep Florida under 20 we might can win.

But we have to finally play a good game, and we haven't strung 4 quarters together all season.

Florida fought back against Bama. I hope that team stays in Gainesville.

I would take Florida -7.5 but the O/U looks too close either way. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose, I would take the under.

Our defense sucks so we will have to score a bunch of points to win.

This the game week thread? OK.

My predictions

-at least 4 fumbles with a good split between Rodriguez and Ali

-every time Ali fumbles, the camera will focus on Smoke as though he was the fumbler because ESPN doesn't know the difference between 6 an 0

-Said fumbles will likely occur beyond the 50 yard line and are more likely to occur the closer we get to the end zone

-There will be angry drunk fans and disappointment due to us losing the game thanks in part to handing the ball over so many times.

-Stoops will have a slightly larger belly (circumference wise)

-property damage will occurr, be it a burnt couch, over turned car, or something else

That helps, thanks.

We scored 16 on SC's defense, so probably doesn't matter.

Im assuming Floridas game plan will be to run right at the Kentucky defense to test it up the middle. Stoops likes to play a bend don't break style, basically trying not to give up a the big play and wait for your opponent to make a mistake. All year we've done a really shitty job at maintaining the edge. Missouri killed us all day with little 3 to 4 yard passes to the flat. If Florida wants to run that WR Sweep it will likely be there all day. Of course with a QB who can run breakdowns and bad tackling it could be a long day for the defense. Our defensive line has not been a threat this season.

Offensively for Kentucky we're pretty basic no matter what look we come out in. If you've got safeties high we're gonna run the ball. Every once in a while we take a deep shot with play action but thats about it. Early season passing was fantastic but the cupcakes have gone away. Since our offensive line doesn't seem to pass block as well as they run block we've relied heavily on the run game to cement things in the second half. Might see more 11 personnel this week

Honestly I don't expect many changes from either team. Just line up and do what they do best.

One thing about Florida.. I don't get all the complaints about Emory Jones as a passer, he's seemed more than serviceable. Maybe I've just only seen him when he's playing well?

As a closet Kentucky football fan, I echo most of what I have read so far; win the TO battle, and force Emory Jones to throw. Kentucky needs to hold it's own up front; Florida has been owning people on the lines; if this continues Saturday, this could get ugly (but not Spurrier ugly, thank God). Richardson is gonna burn Kentucky once or twice if he plays. The Gator secondary is suspect, but if Levis has only 2 seconds to throw, it won't matter, and all Florida has to do is key on Ali and Robinson.

Florida is elite and Kentucky won't be able to keep up. I like Florida 38, Kentucky 17. Kentucky could still go 9-3, because they're good, but Florida is elite.

Kentucky is going to carve up this Florida defense like a thanksgiving turkey.

Florida will have to score over 28 to win IMO. I assume uk will try to take away the run and make Emory beat them. If they can. So far that strategy hasn’t worked out for anyone.

I’m thinking this game looks a lot like the high scoring mizzou-uk game with uf being much better against the run but way worse against the pass.

I’d say Uf has a lot of success running but can they finish drives? Uk will have a lot of success passing but can they avoid turnovers?

It’s gonna be clooooose.

Here's my other comment. Kentucky is 4-0 regardless of how they got there. Florida is ranked higher with one loss to Bama.

Night game in Lexington. Commonwealth will be an amazing atmosphere.

My last I attended in Commonwealth was the 2017 game when UK went into the 4th quarter leading by 13. I knew we would still lose, but the atmosphere at the end of the 3rd and starting the 4th was surreal. Better than beating #1 LSU, and Louisville in 2007.

I hope it's that way this week at the end of the 3rd.

I think the key to the game for UK will be Levis’ passing. So far he’s only had to complement the rush. As mentioned above, UF is elite and their defense has yielded only to an elite offense. Hoping the atmosphere and the Florida jerseys will inspire our boys to play over their heads.

Oh, and sticky balls. We’ll need sticky balls for our offense to stay on the field.

I'd bet the under and the gators to cover if I can buy a point.

I think this is true. He's not had a good game since week 1. Time to step up and make good decisions.
