I'm not really sure what control he wouldn't have at UF, that he has at Ole Miss. Usually coaches make that part of the deal when they go somewhere.

When you have millions, every city is a nice place to live. Even in Boca, you have to have money to enjoy that place. I say this as someone that lives in Gainesville and doesn't really like it here. If I was a millionaire, it would be a lot better, for sure.

It seems that some people out there are going to make Lane say no. We'll see what he does.

Yep, there were 100’s of people on this board saying Kiffin was going to Auburn…..how did that turn out?

Yeah because of his offensive system. No one was ready for the "fun n gun" in 1990. Today everyone throws the ball, so a "system" coach wouldn't be an advantage now.

Will Florida be willing to pony up to get Kiff? Haven’t they been notoriously cheap lately? Also they need to clean house before a new coach. They have an interim president and need a new AD.

UF isn't a better job than Ole Miss.

I'm sorry, but, yeah, it is, all day long. Bigger school, bigger stadium, bigger fanbase, richer fanbase, bigger expectations, a national championship heritage, and the flagship school of the one of the most important states in the union. There's not a single metric where Florida isn't a better job than Mississippi.

The games with Tennessee would be a lot of fun to watch as an outsider.

Especially if Tennessee won them.

Imagine all the Lane Hate around the league from spurned/vengeful fan bases. It'd be fun as long as it lasted.

We’ve been here literally every year. This will last until Thanksgiving then UF will hire Drink or Mahlzahn and say “we never considered Kiffin”. Been here done that.

But but he’s not a good coach! Says every mfer on this board but when your program starts going to shite or continues to be shite. He’s the first person your school calls.

Kiffin would be a home run hire for them
Kiffin at Florida is going to be fun, for some.

I understand that donor’s sentiment, sounds very familiar. A lot of guys at Texas didn’t want Sark based on his past. They can eat sh*t forever.

College Football is about seeing the future, and capitalizing on it. Seeing Sark’s offenses the past 5+, when he has the guys he wants, that’s as good as it gets. 10 guys caught passes in the first half yesterday.

Florida already gets those same guys, the same guys that Texas wants. Kiffin would get to groom players for 3 years, not one year rentals.

K would get it done.

Kiffin to Florida made sense a few years ago, now Im not so sure. I mean they had the chance to hire him and didn't. TBH that would kind of piss me off but money talks. It would cost Florida an absolute ton and on the flip side, Kiffin isnt a proven NC coach. I will say this it would be and immediate improvement and a shot of energy that the program needs.

is it currently that much of a better job than Ole Miss? I think its hard to say that it is. It does have higher historical prominence, but Ole Miss said yes when Florida said you werent good enough.

Hiring Kiffin after FAU would’ve been the same as hiring Napier after ULL.

Only difference was Kiffin was a true/successful OC at a high tiered school.

Napier never made it more than a year as OC before getting fired.
