I know that article and the stuff that's been said about Lane. When you have millions of dollars, that buys you a lot of flexibility. When you have boosters with billions of dollars, that buys you even more flexibility. UF has a billion dollar booster network. Whatever his concerns are with regard to family time, the UF booster network can take care of those with ease. When you have money, you can make it work rather easily.
Lane may or may not care what his ex's opinion is - but those kids care what she thinks.
Ole Miss is a great spot for Lane and he's a great fit there. I'm not trying to argue the opposite. My argument is that UF is also a good fit for him and he's also a good fit for UF. And like I said, his children have ties to UF through their mother. The money would be pretty massive to lure him from Ole Miss. It's not crazy to think of him going to UF and it's one of the more logical moves that could happen this year, all things considered.

UF is a dumpster fire.

I understand your comments and can understand being conservative with spending but we clearly lost a huge advantage around 2006, where we were on top of the sports world. I know kids that visited UF and were embarrassed with the facilities, especially no indoor practice facility, locker room, weight room, etc. we fell off and other schools took advantage and here we are a decade and a half later. How we didn’t have the top recruiting class each year should have been a huge warning sign.
Meyer brought in the highest rated class in history back then. Cant remember which year. Maybe 09 or 10.

Mullen was always a disaster and people called it from the second the AD announced him. The expectations are not really unrealistic.

If you know anyone around him, yeah it is crazy to even contemplate going to deal with the cluster fxck of your billion dollar boosters that couldn’t pay for a QB……when he has control over every single thing at Ole Miss and his family wants him there. If it was in Boca I could see it but Gainesville is a dump.

Just like Mullen, Kiffin would take everything to Florida. He wouldn't have to rebuild anything.

If they don't open up the checkbook it won't matter.
The game in 2024 is buying players and UF is inept in that department

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Lane Kiffin isn't the only coach out there who could improve UF's football program. I wouldn't limit the search to one guy.

There were a lot of people out there that knew Mullen would be a disaster hire, myself included.
When he was at UF under Meyer, his wife made up a story about having to drive for hours to get groceries because the expectations too high and fans unreasonable. Complete lie. Anyone that would say that and make that up about an employer is a huge red flag.
When he was at UF, the big knock on Tebow was his throwing motion. Who was Tebow's QB coach for 3 years? Dan Mullen. When he left for Moo St many were happy. What happened to Tebow's production when Mullen left? It was the same or better. What happened to his mechanics? They improved.
In his tenure at Moo St, when the pressure was on Moo St to win, they lost, every time. What did they do when they rose to #1 in the first playoff ranking? They immediately lost. In Mullen's entire career as a head coach, he lost every single game to a ranked opponent when his team was ranked higher.
He has never been good for recruiting. His personality is so bad that Meyer had to rescue the recruitment of Tebow, who was about to go play for Shula at Bama because Mullen gave him such a bad impression.
Mullen was so dumb that he wanted Percy Harvin and Tim Tebow to sit the bench for all of 2006, no matter what. Meyer forced him to put those guys on the field. Mullen did the same with Dak until injury forced him to play Dak.
Many UF fans knew this stuff and knew that Mullen would be a disaster. These people, including me, caught hell on Gator websites when the red flags would emerge. Finally at the end of 2020 people started to understand and in early 2021 everyone was ready to see him go.

Translucent facade must be less than 12 years old on that facility.

I don’t think Lane wants to move to that shite hole Gainesville Florida and then ruin his career in under three years with that toxic program and everything that surrounds it.

It should happen. Sunbelt Billy will never beat UGA. Kiffin might if he gets lucky.

I'm not really sure what control he wouldn't have at UF, that he has at Ole Miss. Usually coaches make that part of the deal when they go somewhere.
When you have millions, every city is a nice place to live. Even in Boca, you have to have money to enjoy that place. I say this as someone that lives in Gainesville and doesn't really like it here. If I was a millionaire, it would be a lot better, for sure.
It seems that some people out there are going to make Lane say no. We'll see what he does.

Objectively Ole Miss is a better school.

he was absolutely not a disaster hire and you saying otherwise proves the statement that UF fans have unreasonable expectations.
Mullen demoralized the program. He put it behind in recruiting. When he showed up, Miami and FSU were disaster zones and he did nothing to capitalize on that. By the time he left, both programs were either on par or gained huge ground on UF. He was left good talent by McElwain. He left Napier hardly anything to work with. He got UF on probation. He embarrassed the school nearly every week. He needed half the Georgia roster to get injured in order to win the East in 2020. The program was far, far worse when he left than when he arrived. He was 3-1 against ranked teams his first year. He finished up 1-5.
Do some more laughing emojis, though, they really make for a convincing argument.

Right off the bat, the first research assignment should be for the guy to learn how to spell Lane's last name.
