When travel ball finally comes face-to-face with real life. Sorry Pop! Your kid is just ok at D1 level.

Now, I will say I believe everything yall say about CPM on here. I had only one brief interaction with him while in Baton Rouge, and that’s all it took for me to see he has a short temper and feels like he is above others.

I heard some of this from the holdovers when he got to LSU…..he was hard on guys that weren’t “his” guys.

Ultimately worked out for LSU maybe not in Columbia.

One of the players Mainieri tried to run off his first year in Baton Rouge was Louis Coleman.

He did run off a couple of decent pitchers from that staff.

Must be a Jeckyl and Hyde thing because he seems so nice on camera.

That was his whole thing.

He'd be nice and cheery on camera, while still throwing players under the bus.

Then, when he would talk to players without cameras, he was one of the biggest assholes of all time. Source - multiple guys who played under him.

Tanner should be forced to pay his buyout. This would have never sounded like a good idea from any rational person. We may be stuck with this loser for another year, but I hope not. He brought in players from the portal and his evaluations of those players was a total failure. The good players there now will hit the portal. He brought the program to the bottom.....now he will get out the shovel and dig deeper. Damn....

What a loser

The program is in the dumpster, but he sounds like one of "those" sports parents.

yea PM is a piece of shite as a human. In the way he treats people. Im fine with calling kids out or having meetings with them and parents and saying what they need to work on and if they dont get better may not start etc etc. even fine telling someone they are being a pussy....but the holier than thou attitude and Im better than you and the comments about how they are lucky he even speaks to them...yea pretty shitty

but the way he talked to people while at LSU is insane.

overall he was a decent coach but he is a terrible human. Im so glad he is completely shitting the bed. Now i do want SC to return to being a top program but I dont want it to happen until paul is gone.

Coleman was a dawg. One of my favorite LSU players.

i would think a post like this would cause hesitation for other programs to bring the kid in

There was a lot of house cleaning that needed to be done when he got to LSU. There is a lot of house cleaning that needs to be done in Columbia right now. It's not uncommon for an out going coach's players and families to be resistant to change.

I’m not going to defend Ray Tanner, because hiring PM was pure negligence.

But… it’s never a good look for Daddy to get on social media and bitch on behalf of his son.

I fully agree. I'm sure the dad had legitimate reasons to be upset. But getting on social media and venting is a horrible look for a grown man, especially a Dad. It's just not a good look and could possibly do more harm than good to his son in the long run.
