He's going to be 90-years-old on his next birthday.
He fought the Japanese and has jumped out of one or two planes during his lifetime.
The ol' bones sometimes get the best of you when you're knockin' on 100.
Physically, he's doing very well.

I thought he died. I remember him from my childhood on the news reporting from University of Texas health science center in Houston.
