Notice there are no nice beaches in Louisiana either. It's the sediment rich water from the marshes, bays, swamps, and rivers that causes the water to be so murky. Not much can be done about that.

It's made up of the sediments that flow out from the Mississippi River.

Northshore and the Woodlands for the win.

Also, a thread in the OT covers how crappy Galvatraz is.

I heard them say on ESPN radio that the Houston area(Montgomery Co. Brazoria Co Ft Bend Co. Harris Co. Galveston Co.) puts more kids in D1 sports than any city in the US.

Wouldnt expect you to be able to follow anything other than LSU football. Brain capacity and all. Sound like a gump thinking football only exist at the college level.

High School football in Texas is something I dont expect non-Texans or even migrated Texans to understand.

Jackie Sherrill said this back in his A&M days. He could recruit nothing but Houston and field a legit Div 1 team every year. LSU has been here for years. Bama has gotten into the mix.

The Woodlands is like living in The Truman Show. It's so fake and predictable. It's a plastic life.

Galveston is shitty in a good way. It's like a black hole, I could see being a bum in Galveston.. and not really caring what life was like outside of the black hole. It's laid back, not materialistic.

Galveston pros:

Historic architecture
Good dive bars
Easy to get laid
A cheap weekend of partying

Cons:

Brown water
Gray sand
Poors

Galveston is a good town, but will NEVER be Destin or South Padre. Why? GEOLOGY. All of the rivers that flow into the Gulf near Galveston are BROWN, due to SEDIMENT. I had a snowbird ask me once when we were going to "clean our water up" to compete with Alabama, south Padre, etc. My answer was when the Mississippi, San Jacinto, Trinity, and Brazos rivers run clear. Ain't gonna happen in this millennium.

Actually, if you go a couple of miles offshore from Galveston, the water crystal blue.
