Based upon multiple past experiences , I am
quite sure that there will be an exception for anyone wearing purple or gold. Worst tailgating town in the SEC. The Purple Porpoise hated Gainesville so much it closed down.

However, if it is legalized, just contact one of UM's Lawyers from down here. Their hate of UF would have a field day dry humping Gainesville's coffers.

I'm sure they'll feel the loss of revenue from the 4 tickets they wrote in 2020 and the 9 they wrote in 2019.
Since public intox will still be illegal and an arrestable offense, you're still hooked up for staggering down the street yelling STTDB at folks.

I'm late to the thread- but about six of us was walking in the main street area and a cop asks us what we were drinking. It was all coffee, since it was 9am in the morning. They actually wanted to smell our drink. IT WAS ONLY COFFEE. Good for Gainsville.

This needs to be bumped and the open container laws need to go away as well. If someone is drinking and driving, or being disorderly, they should get in trouble, otherwise, don't hassle me man.
