TAMU wanted to continue our rivalry with tu on Thanksgiving as an OOC game. And we expressly desired to continue playing OOC in every sport. tu refuses to play us. The CB was trying to match us up, and the sips raised all kinds if hell about it.
I'm not sure how anyone with any sort of brain power, that even remotely pays attention to college sports, can even begin to think that we are the ones that refuse to play them.

Honestly., It was a combo of us sucking and neither team wanting to expand the contract after the 1992 conference expansion. Till a few years ago LSU never played OOC road games. aggies just look back and see the last few wins and assume y'all made are arse quit but as you know conference realignment is tricky business

Gerry DiNardo went to Joe Dean and told him that he couldn't rebuild the program starting 0-1 every year after losing to A&M. LSU then either didn't extend or cancelled the series after the 95 game depending on who you talk to. LSU also got ULL (at that time USL) to fill the hole in A&M's schedule. It just so happens that this ULL team had Jake Delhomme at QB and ended up actually beating A&M in the 96 season when the Aggies travelled to Lafayette.

I'll take it further than that--it's almost outright impolite NOT to take pot shots when given the opportunity. Like you're too good to deign to diss a conference foe or something

Texas wants no part of an A&M team that is actually successful in the SEC. We would smash them, and they know it. And recruiting - according to the Texas rivals site, A&M could very easily end up with more than half of the top ten in Texas for 2014, and that hasn't happened since I was in school.
