is not going anywhere.

I thought they played great and the sky is the limit as they are young and inexperienced at some key positions and will only get better.

Losing a close game, that could easily have gone the other way, against the current #1 team in the nation is no shame. Which is reflected in the #6 ranking Alabama has after the loss.

Fully expect to see Alabama in Atlanta at the end of the year, and - if so - they should have the edge (it just seems to be the way it is in this conference).

Georgia has a very good team this year, but we are not dominant. I'm hoping for the best, but we can be beaten and almost were last night. Unlikely we will end the regular season undefeated.

Anyway, another great game Tide. Hope we do not meet again.

I have no idea how tiebreakers and all that will work out this year. But I'd rather maybe Texas win out and make it and Alabama gets the week off for some cupcake in the 1st round.

It's so dumb what they have done to the post season that I am remotely saying that, but it's the damn reality. Talking about what could potentially be a national championship quality matchup depending on how brackets laid out being played in what amounts to an exhibitionist game that doesn't benefit either team.

Take a look at last years postseason. Georgia got the bye, but had to play Alabama to get it. Ole Miss got a cupcake 1st round. It's not an even trade off and that needs to be fixed. Shouldn't have been allowed to start with.

We definitely made the right decision never letting Kiffin near this program and getting DeBoer instead.......

But yeah, this is DeBoer's best team. You can truly say this is his team this season. The offense is all DeBoer guys. They're young, but very talented. I think that's what most people wanted to see in his third season. He seems to have things going in the right direction. Got to rebound next weekend against that orange team.

UGA is currently the top dog in the conference until proven otherwise.

Will Bama show the SEC Champion is capable of winning a game in the new 12 team expanded playoff.

Oh yeah. And, btw, DeBoer's decision to go for it on the goal line at the end of the half was ballsy. Elephant ballsy.

But yeah, no sane program is letting Lane Kiffin anywhere near it.

I think you can win championships with DeBoer.

TBH last night after the loss was the first time in three years I felt like “Alabama is not going anywhere.”

Good game

Last night could very well have been the first of three UGA/Bama games this year.

Tie Breakers —

quote:

If two or more teams finish with an identical conference record, the tie is broken using the following criteria in exact order:

1. Head-to-head competition: The best record in games played against the tied teams.
2. Record versus all common conference opponents: The best record against all common conference opponents shared by the tied teams.
3. Record against the highest-placed common conference opponent: Winning percentage against the highest-placed common conference opponent in the standings, continuing down through the standings if necessary.
4. Cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents: The combined conference winning percentage of all conference opponents played by each tied team (effectively strength of schedule).
5. Capped relative total scoring margin: The relative total scoring margin against all conference opponents, with offensive and defensive point margins capped per game (such as 42 points offense and 48 points defense).
6. Random draw: A live or managed random draw of the tied teams conducted by the conference office if all previous steps fail.

So, right now, there is no way to tell what would happen with a Texas/Alabama tie

Yeah, that was crazy. The run to the outside by Crowell was also beautiful to see. We haven't seen RB's like this in what seems like a while.

I also feel DeBoer can win it all here. He took Washington to the championship game so he does have a history. He's not Saban, but he doesn't have to be. He's only been a head coach at the P4/P5 level for 5 seasons, and 7 seasons overall at the D1 level. FWIW, it took Saban 10 full seasons to win his first.
