but deciding not to hire Schiano was at least reasonable. It was stabbing the AD in the back and reneging on the Mike Leach deal that convinced me that Fulmer wanted to run the program (into the ground) again.

I disagree about Schiano. Schiano's resume is more impressive than every coach in the SEC outside of Jimbo and Saban. Schiano is one of the best talent evaluators in college football. Remember he was on the Miami staff under Butch Davis when they had to find underrated gems because they were on probation. Tennessee needs someone who can find underrated talent now more than ever and someone who can develop that talent. Schiano is one such person.

The one thing I'll ever agree with Phatimus on. I'm liking what I'm seeing in Knoxville too.

That disaster yesterday was as bad as anything Butch or Dooley trotted out there.

I don’t buy it. He’s 68 years old. Maybe he’s that arrogant to think he can come in as an old man and resurrect the program as the head coach.

Fulmer wants to be remembered as not only the first Vol's coach to win a NC in the last 50+ years, but as the ultimate savior of the Tennessee program. I really think he wants to supplant Coach Neyland in the hearts and minds of Tennessee fans.

I have no doubt Fulmer will step in as the Vols coach and will sometime this year (probably after the Alabama game, he will not before and risk absorbing the beatings that is coming from UGA, AU and Bama)

His intent all along is to wait for the dumpster fire under the new coach to hit its peak then come walking in like a savior as coach again.

Isn't he like 68 years old and has not coached in a decade.

Fulmer's ego is the largest thing about him.

Vince Dooley tried the a similar trick when he hired Ray Goff. I'm not sure that Dooley wanted to be HC again but he did want a moron to make himself look better.
