1-7 would be unacceptable. Getting rid of UGA/Auburn, Alabama/Tennessee, LSU/Florida, LSU/Ole Miss, etc would kill the SEC. There would still be a conference called the SEC, and it would make a ton of money putting on football games for Disney, but it wouldn’t be the Southeastern Conference we all have known and loved.

The CFB & traditions we grew up loving are already dead & gone.

Players, coaches, admin, league officials….they’re all alike 100% about $$$ and nothing else anymore.

No other school gets more treats than Bama.

And prior to Texas joining, it was UGA

They had a great opportunity to make that happen during the COVID year but for some dumb arse reason paired them with Arkansas.

I must be one of the few that is in favor of keeping the 8 game schedule, but requiring two OOC power fives.

Think about this, your SEC schedule could look like this just with an 8 game slate.

Georgia
Alabama
Florida
Oklahoma
Texas
Florida
LSU
Tennessee

Think about a school like Kentucky being presented with that schedule.

If it's just for one year, could we just do this:

Take everyone's existing 2024 schedule, swap out their non-permanent opponent in the opposite division, and replace them with either Texas or Oklahoma. If you were scheduled to be on the road for that particular game then you'll be on the road @ either Texas or OU, and same for if you were supposed to be at home that game.

This way all the rivalries remain intact for the year on their regular rotation, and it's an easy way to fill out Texas and OU's SEC schedule at the same time. Obviously they will play each other for their 8th game.

So LSU in 2024 was supposed to host Vandy. Idk how you choose which team, but let's say they choose Texas for this example. This would mean LSU subs out a home game against Vandy for a home game against Texas, and Vandy swaps out their road game for a road game against Oklahoma. This would also give Texas one home game and Oklahoma one road game in the SEC.

And you just go down the line. Idk who's supposed to be designated the home team in 2024 for the RRS since they play it at a neutral site every year but whoever is supposed to be the "home" team that year will get to pick 3 home teams and 4 road teams among these particular 7 SEC matchups to be their opponents, and the designated away team will pick 4 home teams and 3 road teams. The only issue is picking which ones to give each team. I think you would want to give A&M to Texas, same with Arkansas, and give Mizzou to OU due to old ties and go from there.

I heard it will be a 2-6...so I guess DSOR, WLOCP, IB, & TSIO will be kept?
