FSU was left out because Jordan Travis got hurt - Bama should have been left out in 2021

Paperwasp states

I mentioned this in another thread, but the same metric would apply to Michigan (who barely had a better SOS than FSU) if Harbaugh had still been suspended.

unavailability of key players and coaches

John Metchie was injured the SEC championship vs Georgia and therefore made Bama a team with no depth and gave them a built in excuse of injuries after getting beat in the National Title.

Regardless of what happens this season, it’s all over from Bama. Saban will announce he is retiring right after the season is over

You got some key details a little twisted in this lazy thread.

Bama was fine without Metchie. We still had Williams. Bama controlled the national championship game vs Georgia until Williams was injured.

They were left out because they do not have a pulse on offense without the quarterback. They are in if offense could have produced just a little offense Saturday night.

Im sorry your team had no depth and had no business being in the playoffs.

Think they couldn’t get him ready in 4 weeks? I could understand if the game was tomorrow. 4 weeks? He should be ready or screwed…. We will find out against Georgia.

Appears to be the case for your team this year.

Don't hear us crying about injuries. Thats a Bama thing. Would it have helped to have Ladd and Brock healthy all year - sure. Is it a reason we lost - nope.

We had depth, as evidenced by our demolition of UGA in the SEC Championship, dominant Semi-final win, and holding a lead vs UGA in the National Championship until 8 minutes left in the game.

Depth isn’t infinite. But we had plenty to be in the playoffs.

Should have used some of that depth then. Instead of sending out guys that could barely move. You may have had a shot.

They've had all season. Summer practice didn't just start.

What I don't understand, from committee, is if they are not top 4 - how are they 5?

That said, that's not why we lost the game. The biggest bites were the non catch and the fumble inside the 15. Also, having your best players hobbled most of the year certainly didn't help.

It's just 1/3 of it. Referees are another 1/3 of it. And a self inflicted wound the last 1/3.

But yea, no excuses or anything.
