Sankey already said they are done expanding.
That was last month.
Keep up.
They say one thing and could mean another.
From what we’ve heard over the last two year from this board is an unscientific tabulated majority of Ranters want fsu/Clemson (if we have to expand).
Well you may have to expand because fsu and l Clemson May bolt ACC and if sec says no, they are going to big 10.
You may mot care. But then the big10 is playing a game every week in sec territory.
Makes Miami i teresting as well but they can go on.

Florida State is second only to Notre Dame in terms of "big gets" left on the board, and I don't think the Golden Domers are coming to the SEC. AAU status not withstanding, Florida State is a realistic grab for the Big Ten that I wouldn't want slipping away if I were Sankey.
Clemson has had massive success over the last decade, but I don't see them actually piquing the interest of the Big Ten given research prestige and culture are a definite stretch. The way I see it, if A) the Big Ten isn't taking you and B) you're in a market already covered by the SEC there's really no reason to roll out the red carpet. If Clemson finds themselves playing Cincinnati/UCF/Iowa State yearly, their level of success and popularity will decrease as the Gamecocks distance themselves in terms of being the state's most popular program.

Well SA Horn... you aren't even playing an SEC schedule yet, so go away. And then, what is this "we" shite? You talking about uour current conference i assume.

Only reason to take them is to keep the B1G out of the South. We don’t need the additional brand names and their inclusion only makes a tough conference tougher.
Could argue that UNC and UVA would be bigger wins for us (increases the academic and basketball profile while exposing the SEC to regional states where a foothold has yet to be established)

I agree. They really want to remain independent, but if they give that up, they will go to the B1G. They have more long time rivals there and then academics.
But, as much as i hate ND, they are a program that can negotiate their own TV contracts and remain financially secure. They always get the benefit of the doubt from the media and will always get a bowl invite that is above their punching weight. They've done a good job over the years of building their base and have the largest fan following by far.

Yep that’s what I’m getting at. It’s the crux of the question.
How bad do you want FSU out of the big10. They won’t stay in floundering ACC, nor would they want to wait to find out the tv deal.
If I were Florida and I play then every year, I want them in the sec so they can avoid ACC/big10 cakewalks.

Does FSU or Clemson being in the big10 really hurt the SEC? Will recruits want to go there and travel to Rutgers/Nebraska/Maryland etc over SEC schools?

Clemson, FSU or any other ACC team isn't going anywhere unless they can find a way to break the GOR agreement that has the ACC locked down until 2036.
Unless the lawyers can figure this out or they get enough schools to vote to dissolve the league it's a moot comment.

People breeze by it because no one believes any of that shite is iron clad. Contracts get broken and dissolved all the time. Where there's a will there's a way. Just depends on how much they're willing to pay.

They’ll travel to Vandy and Mizzy. Granted Nashville is awesome.

Scrooster does not want FSU in the SEC as that will be another team making SCe their bitch. FSU owns Carolina!

don't see an advantage to going to super stacked conferences with a 12 team playoff on the way. Clemson doesn't lack money and never will.
You will once the new deals kick in and all of a sudden schools are doubling y’all up on TV revenue.
Additionally, with a 12 team playoff, 2 losses doesn’t disqualify you. Hell, depending on the team 3 may not.

Clemson is one of the top engineering and science colleges in the country. Clemson is a Carnegie R1 research university. This is the top designation Carnegie awards to doctoral universities with the highest levels of research activity.
How is the culture different at Clemson than Penn State, Ohio State, etc. That makes no sense.

Engineering schools have zero to do with football fanbase culture.
Do better.

I was responding to somebody who said Clemson wouldn't be a good fit in big 10 due to academics and research.
We are currently in a conference with G Tech, Duke, UNC, etc that are hyped up for academics but we can't be in the Big 10. lol
