Maybe you should let Mullen know that he should be starting the 2* career high school backup instead. He might not have considered that.

Mullen got production out of Chris Relf. Franks will be okay.

Agree. I smell jelly in this thread. FF has more upside. He just needs an actual coach. JM is a joke.

You berated me all Spring and Summer for being negative. Seeing as you have jumped on board are you admitting you were wrong and I was right?

Straws could tell from 3 twitter clips what quarterback is better this spring.
I think Mullen should put him on staff.

I don’t expect an apology, I just want him to know I remember.

When you're worrying about what FSU fans think you've gone off the deep end.

I'm not a huge Franks believer but this has become a personal crusade for you and you need to re-evaluate why you're a fan.

Straws knows more than Mullen, ask him. His arse is just chafed that he bellowed all spring and summer that Trask would be the starter. Straws cant tolerate being wrong. I myself didn't want Franks to be the starter last year and screamed to the sky he wasn't ready. Mac & Nuss almost ruined him.

If Del Rio was still on the roster I would want him as the starter, but he isn't. Franks now is 240 lbs and isn't skinny, the whole team rallied around him as a leader. He busted butt in the weight room and film room to get better.

But again, Straws knows more than everyone. He wanted a kid who never was the starter in high school and hasn't taken a college snap to be our QB.

Straws you sound like a teenage girl jilted for the prom date....get over it.

Franks was played last year and wasn’t ready, but the good thing is he can get better and has multiple starts under his belt. I don’t know crap about Florida’s QB situation but after working with him for a short period in Mullen I would trust.
Lots of fans write off young players early in their careers when it is possible and more likely they will and do get better. I respect Coach M for his ability to evaluate and coach up QB’s. Franks should be better than he was last year, of course he might be the best you have at the time and no other choice.
Guess we all find out soon.

What you mean like the 2* Dak Prescott (who was bumped to 3* after he went to college)?

Maybe like Nick Fiztgerald?

Similarly, to the guy who said that I only looked at 3 clips from last week's Scrimmage:

I actually had an entire thread dedicated to what I saw in the Spring Game. Spring Game Quarterback review.

Trask also crushed Franks in the first scrimmage of the Off-Season.

quote:

Final #Gators QB stats from scrimmage per @RobbieAndreu : Franks 7-22 for 127 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs; Trask 12-18 for 182 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT

Trask then went on to beat him in the last scrimmage of the year:

quote:

Trask was better than Franks tonight, though both made some good throws and neither threw an interception.

That was posted on the Insider's boards. So Trask won every single meaningful scrimmage and the Spring Game (stats provided in the link). It's not like I just say: Man there's some clips on Twitter that I watched, I actually did a film study to back up my work.

I'll take ban bets with all of you that Franks doesn't finish up the year as the starter.

Once again welcome to every year since 2009. You’re not risking much.

The thing is, he's never had a real QB coach until this year. So he's still a long ways away. I don't think he should start until at least his RS JR or RS SR year, because he still has way too much to learn from a throwing/processing perspective. I broke down our Spring Game and noticed that his vision is sort of the opposite of tunnel -- he can only see the outside of the field and I don't think one off-season of getting outperformed by a high school backup is enough to make him a good QB.

In fact, I think if he gets benched again it is likely the end of his career at Florida, which is bittersweet because coaches just need to give him time.
