From what I've seen in these NFL and college football semifinals and the NCG....

Defense still wins championships.

What I saw was 2 healthy teams play in the Conference Championship and the team with supposedly the "best defense ever" got demoralized. Then they played again in the NCG and the team that won the 1st matchup had 2 of their 3 best players out and lose.
Not sure if that confirms defense wins OR defense with 2 of the 3 best players out wins. Not sure because that's an awfully big advantage.

I guess in a new world of Covid Covid Covid, a flu ravaged team is considered healthy.

And the NFL playoff games have been much better than CF playoffs

Take Burrows dick out of your mouth long enough to actually read/understand the OP.

What I’ve seen is that college football playoffs suck.

Two years of uncontrollable offense with all the right pieces.
It will happen again. The talent will mix with scheme and defenses will have to figure it out.
I laugh at folks that say you don’t need a good, talented defense.

I don't watch the NFL until it's nut cutting time, but the parity of the NFL makes it a much better product, from a national perspective. Not even close.

Will Anderson and Bryce Young played the whole game, so Bama was definitely not down 2 of its best 3 players. Maybe 2 of it's best 5?

But so does offense. Offense and defense ... two sides of the same coin.

And Georgia fans could care less about any of it.
I’m sure most their fans just laugh at posts like this now.

You know our 5* projected 1st rounder edge rusher, All-American DB and projected 1st string CB was out of both games, right?
And thta is not talking about all of the offensive players we had missing. But you just want to ignore those because.....? Why?

I actually believe it takes both. If you have an elite defense, you still need a competent offense....and if you have an elite offense you still need a competent defense.

"Some Excuses" ha. Again our last three tds were scored by freshman....

True. The offense has to be good enough to cover for the defense. No matter how good, defense only cannot win games. And the inverse is true too.

Right. In the SEC title game, with Williams and a quarter of Metchie, the better offense won decisively.
Personally, I'd like to see some of the rules that handcuff the defense be rescinded but I don't expect that to happen because offense is more entertaining to most fans.
