Again, you never read past the clickbait headlines.

From the SB nation link:

Why would the FBI be concerned with a booster paying a player? Perhaps because McGregor was arrested last month by the FBI in a bribery sting over an attempt to buy off politicians for gambling concessions.

I did, it's the same shite I've already debunked. It's clickbait headlines.

If you think the FBI investigates NCAA violations, then that's just your ignorance. You can sit here and keep claiming some victory and whatever other delusions you have all you want, but that's the reality.

The fact you need that lie and delusion is in itself even more telling.

You are the only one trying their hardest to defect from the fact Saban cheated with impunity is why we are where we are in football.

Your weak strawmen keep getting knocked down

The idea a coach gets involved in such things is just another delusion of yours. I can only imagine you don't actually realize what you are implying.

That a HC is going to give teenage kids, up to 100 a year, the power to end their entire career year after year. And then have to somehow be an authority over these kids who have this power. There is just no way in hell that's how it works. You just seem to have no concept of power or what it means to give it to other people over you.

At best you can claim that the knowledge of who the teams want is public information and boosters can take and do what that information as they wish. But there is no way in hell Saban, or any coach who isn't brain dead or pear shaped is going to get involved in such things.

Code language for Are Alabama and Georgia not gonna win every year? It's obviouly the end of college football if they don't. I like the new version since certain teams aren't allowed to cheat with impunity for an overwhelming advantage.

In case you haven't noticed, Alabama and Georgia are not having trouble with recruiting.

Saban cheated with impunity? Where’s your proof? He definitely got the SEC refs to give him every benefit but I’ve seen nothing that proved he cheated in recruiting or with his players
Put up or shut up. Let’s see your proof

Only because you choose to sign mercenaries because winning is the most important thing to you.

If it's a choice between signing a good 3-4 star QB from Auburn High School with a 4.0 GPA who went to every AU camp and home game and had Bo Jackson and Cam Newton posters all over his bedroom or a 5 star #1 ranked QB prospect from California who can barely spell his name, the fans will take the 5 star.

You're not willing to sacrifice winning to do things the right way. You will pay coaches $100,000,000 contracts. You will pay players NIL money. You will sit your fifth year senior RB for a portal transfer who's a little better.

The players don't have a damn bit of power UNLESS YOU GIVE IT TO THEM! They can't get a scholarship if no one offers it. They can't get NIL if no one pays it. They can't transfer if no one accepts them. So quit doing all that shite.

What you really want is the NCAA or Congress (or whoever the frick) to essentially put you in straight jackets and padded rooms to protect you from yourselves and your addiction to winning.

There's not one thing stopping Auburn or Alabama or Georgia (or whoever) from signing good kids who are good athletes who love your school and value an education. You might not win championships with them, but they are there to get and would be fun to see compete.

But that's not good enough for anyone. You would rather sign the dumbass with otherworldly athletic ability who's never been to your state and only wants to use your program as a stepping stone to the NFL - because, man, we gotta beat Bama.

I think people deciding to not watch is proof against your point. We don't want to see mercenaries. We don't care about championships anymore. We don't care about it because its not about the kids wanting to play for the program. Alabama can win 10 championships or 0 over the next 10 years and I will not watch another game. I will not poke fun at Auburn or LSU fans anymore. I won't care at all.

The game left me behind 5 years ago and I've seen 3 games, all because I was at someones house and I'm not going to be rude or a stick in the mud.

What happens when Southern Miss, UAB,
or any of the other minor conference schools can no longer afford to field a
football team ? Does the cost get so high
that outside of the Big 10 and SEC, college
football goes by the wayside ? I can imagine
a team like Southern Miss is running much of a profit.

Southern Miss football revenue and net
operating income from the Hattiesburg
American.
“ Football raked in $4.75 million in revenue – a $1.25 million increase from 2022 – but had $1.28 million more in expenses to operate at a $5.2 million deficit in 2023. The overall change was flat, just $24,000 compared to 2022.”

[quote]Its only fitting that Bama boosters killed cfb.

Ignoring the change in conferences, all they need to do is pay all the players a set amount and limit transfers and cfb will still remain relevant and not turn into an amateur league. All the players care about is money and that's the cause of the problem. If they make the same no matter what then the schools and traditions will matter again.

We will see how the ratings are in college football. People are still going to watch. It's because fans care way too much about winning that they have mercenaries in the first place.

Fans may hate mercenaries, but they hate losing more. That's why they sign mercenaries. And hell, it has been that way to some degree for a while. Cam Newton and Joe Burrow are arguably the two best QB's in the history of CFB (for one year) and both were transfers who grew up in other states. Do they love LSU and Auburn? Hell, I am sure they do now. It's pretty damn hard not to have had a good time as an undefeated national champion Heisman winner being praised all over town while screwing hot college tail and being a lock for the #1 pick in the draft. Life doesn't get much better than that. But let's not pretend either guy was wanting to jump on a grenade for LSU or Auburn when they were coming out of high school.

NIL or not, the players don't love the schools. They are there for reasons of opportunity. And the fans don't love the players - unless they are shining and winning. It's all very conditional.

At the moment. Once all the money is going to the players and players completely quit caring about the schools that they are at and just the money then the teams will suffer and fans will care about it as much as these pop up football leagues.

Traditions and pulling for players for multiple years is already dying off. It's basically a free agent league with confences and bowls meaning nothing. Cfb basically turned into the xfl (minus contracts) in a couple years. Once fans quit caring the same it will turn into a weak extra activity at the college that not many people pay attention to.

You think Saban started the cheating in CFB? Get some perspective.

Schools were buying players before there were TVs to show the games on.
