Brian Kelly’s salary last fall was $1,665,020, placing him in the bottom half of the FBS at No. 75. Those ahead of him include No. 65 Dino Babers, possibly one more losing season from being fired at Syracuse; No. 61 Chris Ash, who was dumped by Rutgers; No. 55 Steve Addazio, who recently resurfaced at Colorado State after being fired at Boston College; and No. 43 Clay Helton, whose seat at USC is feeling toasty after a 13-12 mark over the past two seasons.

Wow I didnt know he was ridiculously underpaid. I dont blame him at all for jumping. LSU was smart to pursue a massively underpaid coach.

Lol. Private schools like ND don’t disclose actual salaries

And all the Cane’s chicken fingers he could possibly want.

I’d take that payday too.

There is a wide range of speculation as to what Kelly was making. I read that it was around $5 million but who knows?

An ND podcast I watched earlier said he was being payed around 7 mil per year.

But since ND is a private school no one knows for sure.

No he wasn't.

The highest estimate I can find is around $3 million and ND is notoriously cheap with FB coaching hires.

Kelly would have left a long time ago if he was only making 3 million. I don't care how cheap ND is. They aren't paying less than most P5 schools and some G5 schools and keeping a guy who's made the CFP twice and the BCSCG once for 12 years. fricking Matt Luke made that much his first year at Ole Miss

Don't really care that you don't care.

I can't find one source that can come close to corroborates $7 million+ and I've gone through multiple articles and sources.

because ND is a private school and doesn't publish his salary figures. No one knew what Tim Corbin at Vandy made for years until his salary showed up one year on Vandy's tax filings. And it was way more than anyone previously thought, like double what any other coach was making in CBB iirc.

Just think about this logically. Brian kelly just left Notre Dame for money, but you think he was only making 3 million/year at Notre Dame which has been waaaaay under his market value. Brian Kelly clearly cares about how much money he makes, so there is a 0% chance he would have stayed at Notre Dame for 12 years making less than half of his market value as a coach.

They’re all mad because LSU has a competent coach. Not to mention everyone of their Schools have to pay all their coaches more money. LSU going to whip that arse.

I thought this was a joke and just saw $15 million reported. If that is true then their AD is a dumbass. Good grief
