Damn, Freeze has lost jangalang.
Things are dire for Hugh.

Imagine if Bama fans were not so insecure about their program post-Saban they might find better things to do than troll their rivals.

I will never forgive you for what he did to Ole Miss, but in his defense, you can get a lot done on a golf course

I witnessed Hugh Freeze chatting up a young girl on the square hours after losing a road game at Bama.

this was the most boring thread in the history of SECRANT

Everything his buddy just said is exactly why golfgate matters and should matter to AU fans.
“If he were winning no one would care about his golfing.” - Yea exactly. He isn’t winning. And he got paid huge money to rebuild a roster from scratch, which requires relentless work ethic in this conference just to stay competitive in the top half, not to mention compete for titles among the top 2-4 teams.
“Recruiting is all about money now, not effort and relationships, and you either have the money or don’t.” - Also proves why he better start putting in 90 hours a week if AU doesn’t have the money. If you can’t pay for 5 stars, you better work harder than anyone watching film and visiting high schools to find the diamonds in the rough, coach them up, and outscheme your opponents on the field.

You typed a lot about things you know little about.

BS. AU fans will be doing an extensive diagnosis and eventual post-mortem of Freeze’s personal and professional life if he is 3-3 to start the year, just like you did with Harsin. You won’t admit the AU program is cancerous so you will find a way to make the HC the villain.

Interesting note, the reason the spokesman survived every purge by Saddam, was he was Christian. He never had any fears of him trying to overthrow him.

So which part of what I wrote is wrong?
There are two documented facts at play here. AU has publicly admitted that they either can’t or won’t pay the going rate for top recruits. And Freeze is spending 4-5 hours a day golfing approximately every other day during peak recruiting season. Meaning he simply can’t be putting in anything close to the hours modern SEC coaches spend devoted to football. Any SEC assistant would be fired for golfing that much.

People have been trolling Auburn since Adam took a bite of his apple.

At the end of it all, no one ultimately gives a flying frick what any coach does off the game field.
If Freeze gets drunk on every golf course in the country this summer but wins in the fall, he will be fine. If he spends every minute of the summer at the football facility calling recruits and thinking up new schemes but loses in the fall, he won’t be fine.
Fans don’t care about time and effort. They care about results.

Freeze, "No, no, no! I have a problem with hooking my tee shots! What did y'all think I meant?"

One follows the other. Saban was the most relentless workaholic the sport has ever seen. He was complaining in a post-game interview about how winning a championship got in the way of his recruiting time.
So the guy that put more effort into coaching and everything that went with it just so happens to be the greatest of all time. Probably just a coincidence, though.

Spurrier was pretty fond of golf and wasn’t really known as a workaholic. He did pretty well.
Dabo isn’t known for being super demanding. He’s done pretty well too.
Many coaches have been the type to sleep at the office and still get their arse fired.
More work doesn’t necessarily mean more success.
Ultimately, Freeze will be judged based on the results on the field this year. Nothing else. There will be no “but he did this” or “but he didn’t do that.”
