He had 4 touchdowns of 50 yards or longer, and all of them kinda went the same way - made a safety miss in the open field and outran the secondary to the endzone.

Since our offense isn't near as run-heavy as Arky's was with DMac/Jones, I don't think Gurley and Marshall's numbers will be close to theirs. They'll both likely get increased carries as juniors though when we break in a new QB.

After the season I made a Marshall-centric post, don't have the want to go look for it. I think he had something like 3 or 4 75+ yard runs. Obviously that'll add up yards quick.

The Bulldogs’ duo of Gurley and Marshall ripped off 21 runs of 20 or more yards. Included in that total are 13 jaunts of 30 or more yards and eight of more than 40. Marshall has scoring runs of 75, 72, 62 and 52 yards while Gurley recorded runs of 55, 51, 49 and 44 yards.

UGA is infamous for overhyping RB's.

Mcfadden, Jones, and Hillis were an amazing group at Arky. If they had anyone other than Houston Nutt they would have been hoisting trophies.

Hillis ran for 315 yds in McFadden/Jones Fr year...

K. Malcome ran for 292 yds in Gurley/Marshall's Fr
year... a wash...

Hillis ran for 57yds in their So. year & 347 in their Jr. year....

Either Kyle Karempelis or Brendan Douglas will be our Hillis.

Pretty much. It's amazing they were able to get to the SECCG in '06 considering there was virtually no threat of a passing game so everyone stacked the box the entire game because you knew what was coming.

If it's so easy to break that many big runs, why didn't more players do it, even in easy OOC games?

He's fast. Don't get me wrong. If you can get him in space he's a homerun threat...problem is getting him in space. Not impressed with him between the tackles. Gurley is a beast though.

DMac and Felix Jones played on FAR worse teams than Gurshall will ever play on.

This.

They also had an inept QB thus had 9 in the box. Also didn't Peyton Hillis also get carries (not sure)?

It's not like they were against Buffalo, Ga. Southern & N. Texas St...

TJ's longest runs were 40yds vs Mich. & 43 vs Tenn....

Exactly. Just because he's a different type of tailback than the physical Gurley doesn't mean he sucks.

He still made big plays from our offense as a freshman and showed why every school in the country wanted him.

We also had another future 1,000 yard rusher in Michael Smith. Truly stacked backfield.

I'll give you McFadden, Gurley could end up
Being better though. But to say that Felix=Gurley=Marshall is fricking retarded.
