What ever happened to Samuel? I lived in cartersville when he signed and remembered there being a lot of hype about him running the ball for Geoegia

started out as a true freshman playing RB in 2008. started a few games, was in the 2 deep, and returned kicks. however, had a huge case of the fumbles and wasn't the best runner. we also recruited ealey and king so RS IV moved to LB and got hurt, idk the order.

So he RS'd and came back only to see attrition cost us our RBs so we moved him BACK to RB in 2011 after training him at LB for a year and bulking him. he transformed from a burner who had an 80 yd TD vs arky and returned kicks to a bulky RB who didn't know how to play with his size. he showed early he didn't have the movement left and he went down after first contact every time so he lost his position until he bounced back. he then came out vs UF runnign with authority and capturing our hearts and minds again only to get hurt at the very end pretty much ending his season.

then last year we moved him to FB cause RB was crowded as was LB and he played mainly STs cause we already had FBs. he had a huge play vs Mizzou stopping a fake but that's about it.

overall richt and co totally botched this poor guy's career but he was a DGD and fought his arse off for the red and black and i love him for it. just not as a RB. poor guy.

I agree, and most people who followed him were shouting from the rooftops that he should've been a linebacker from day 1. As you said, once we had king/ealey in the fold we moved him. And your order was correct, he moved to linebacker THEN got hurt before the season. Then had to move back due to necessity.

But yeah I don't know why we started him at RB anyway since we had Knowshon still in 08.

He sure did via the Indiana connection. Hell of a ball player, better zookeeper.

Cornelius Washington would have been the next great UGA DE, following in the footsteps of Charles Grant, Pollack, Charles Johnson and Marcus Howard if we still ran a 4-3 defense.

Unfortunately he was a tweener in the 3-4: too big for OLB, kind of meh as a DE.

Honestly, I would have liked to see Jordan Jefferson worked at the slot and/or H-back in 2011, with Lee still at QB. He was slow for LSU WR standards, but he was pretty big, good in space with the ball, had game experience (something the Tigers lacked at WR that season).

Would have given Lee a big target not afraid of contact, would have given the Tigers a potential trick play (move Lee out wide and slide JJ to QB) on every single play.
