I'm late to the thread, but did mini camp just start? I guess learning terminology & blocking schemes would in fact take some time to absorb.

Sorry you are too late. It's been decided that Greg is an enormous bust. Sucks for AU.

Sounds like a huge victory for the Tide. Congrats

That sucks. Guess I'll have to keep an eye on Patrick Miller too

I can't believe he's not perfect in OTA's (no pads) in a new position and new offense. Who are the NFL insiders? They think the #2 pick in the draft will struggle -

dumbest shite I've ever wasted my time reading.
This won't register at all with kids on the recruiting trail. If it did Saban would be struggling in recruiting as he's had a ton of busts. Kids care about getting to the NFL and getting that check/chance.

You're either very smart with an agenda or just another bammer dumass.

Yep Auburn us now the new Bust U

It's cray cray how Saban keeps winning with all this over valued over hyped talent on his team. I mean bust after bust yet he keeps winning at a great clip. NFL.com wasn't kidding around when they ranked him #1 coach in the nation. Dude can just flat out coach.

I'm not saying anything. What the NFL analyst/writer is saying is that Robinson's struggles should have been expected since he was coming from Auburn's system.
I would expect other SEC teams to use this against Auburn in recruiting.
Alabama: "Hey kid, do you really want to go to Auburn? Did you see they had a guy drafted #2 who is the starting Guard for the Rams? #2 and all he could be is the starting guard? Do you want that kind of life?!? Come to Alabama and you can be like... Greg McElroy!"

I never understood the Rams taking Robinson at 2.
Good, yes he's good. There were 2 guys in the draft though that I considered the easiest picks ever.
Mike Evans, and Jake Matthews. If I'm taking an offensive lineman, Matthews would be the first one off the board.
Robinson simply wasn't asked to do on a consistent basis what he'd be asked to do at Tackle in the NFL. I think he'll make a good guard early, might make a right tackle in a year or two, may one day BE a left tackle.
I sure wouldn't use a top 5 pick on a project. If you want to look at what I think is a pretty good comparison...he's DJ Fluker with less pass blocking ability.

Mel Kiper:

"It is something you have to look at because there have been a host of players out of that Alabama defense that over the years have come in as high draft choices and, frankly, been major disappointments,"
"Is it a trend? Is it one or two? No, it's more than that. You go back to Kareem Jackson, Mark Barron. You look at Dre Kirkpatrick, Rolando McClain and his situation. You look at Terrence Cody. The list goes on and on. There is a concern about that, and it's probably because they're coached up so well and they're in a great system.
"They all complement each other. They come into the league thinking they pretty much are as coached as they can be, and basically they've hit the ceiling. They're good as they're going to get. So there's not that upside that you see with some of the other guys. Maybe that's a factor."

I bet he already passed that frickface Barrett Jones on the depth chart
Possibly, however I'm not sure if you've ever looked at NFL rosters and how many offensive linemen they carry, but guys who can play all 3 positions are pretty rare.
He'll be on an NFL roster for a long time.

Nah... I never said Alabama would use it. We don't have to. Here's our recruiting pitch:

The more I think about it, the more retarded this post is.
We've got more first round draft picks who have turned into starters in the NFL than any other team in the country over the last 7 years.

I thought this was funny.
Kareem Jackson...starting CB
Mark Barron...starting Safety
Terrence Cody....wasn't a high round pick, guess Mel forgot that, still plays for the same team that drafted him
Dre Kirpatrick...I'll give him that one
Rolando McClain...sorry, we couldn't predict he'd go insane.
A bunch of the guys he's complaining about...all start in the NFL. Isn't that what you're trying to get when you draft someone???
Hell check around the NFL and see how many Bama and LSU guys are starting on defenses around the league. I'd wager the list is going to be a pretty long one. Even if they're not all world, in many cases (Marcel Darius comes to mind) their job is NOT to make a ton of sacks. It's to occupy blockers so other guys can.

Meh... missed his entire first season with an injury. Cracked the starting lineup at the end of this season and had 3 interceptions in 3 starts.
