Georgia is a blue state that doesn’t belong with these other folks. Fix your shite.

People think Gainesville is close to the coast. It is not

The Atlanta area north of Buckhead has extreme wealth and elite schools. The level of education you receive from the private schools in this area is only rivaled in a few places in the Southeast. There are approximately 15 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in the Atlanta Metro area. The economy reflects that. We have the NFL, MLB, NBA, and it has been rumored that we will have the NHL again soon. There is no shortage of events and things to do.

We went to Trump in 2024. The only reason Mississippi is reliably red is because people from the northeast don’t want to relocate there.

Exactly, so those are great options for people who need or want to stay close to Atlanta. This is not hard to understand.

Why are you getting angry? Chill.

How many people from states other than Georgia do you think are looking at US news and saying: "Hey babe, we should really move to Alpharetta, Georgia because it's rated in the top 25?"

Not getting angry at all. I don't even live in Louisiana. I'm just pointing out the massive flaws in your argument and logic.

Doesn’t matter, you’re a purple/blue state now and your ATL demographics will continue to expand until you’re solid blue.

Georgia Tech is a major economic driver in Atlanta, generating a record $5.8 billion economic impact in fiscal year 2024, supporting nearly 34,000 jobs, and contributing a significant portion of the state's overall economic output.

Well significantly more people live in Georgia than Louisiana. Georgia is the 8th most populated state in the country. There is a reason people want to live in Georgia and not in Mississippi and Louisiana.

So you think quality of life is positively correlated to population. You should move to Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is four times bigger than Atlanta. With over 20 million residents it must be incredible.

Most people would.

You can get to either coast in about 1 to 1.5 hours.
However, not everyone are beach bums.
Many people are migrating inland from the coast anyway.
There are plenty of lakes and natural springs around Gainesville.

In a first world country like America, where people better have the ability to relocate to where they want to live compared to less fortunate countries, people and businesses are choosing to relocate to Atlanta/Georgia at a significantly higher rate compared to Mississippi and Louisiana.
Why do you think that is?
Why do you think that is?

Because that is where employment opportunities are.
Business is flocking to the south, not just Georgia. Businesses don’t care about quality of life; they want infrastructure, a readily available job force, and low overhead. Atlanta offers that. People are actually trying to get further from Atlanta, that is why Dawson County, GA has the second highest growth rate of any county in the country. People want the jobs that Atlanta offers, but most people don’t want to live in Atlanta.
As a state, Florida and Texas had the highest percentage of population growth from 2023-2024. Georgia was 18th.
I feel bad for those who get stuck working in Atlanta and can’t find a way out.
