What year did you graduate HHS? I went there but graduated from a private school senior year.

Sure. Undergrad and grad degrees or multiple undergrads or whatever. Childhood connections. Etc.

Lol this is dumb. If you're a fan of a coach, fine. I love Spurrier. He's fantastic. So, yeah, if I didn't care otherwise then I'd root for Spurrier. I would never have identified as a Florida or SC fan though.

..how is it that you can get so torqued up about a team? I don't think I'd have near the interest in SEC football if I hadn't actually attended the school and received a degree from there.

On the other hand there are plenty of students and alums who don't give a FRA about sports.
As for me, I couldn't attend LSU because it didn't offer my major but I began following the Tigers when I was 9 years old. I have family members who attended but that is irrelevant.
Further, sports are hardly a barometer of an institution's status or value. The athletes by in large are bought and paid for. A number of them would jump straight to professional developmental league if the money was right and it offered a pathway to the NFL.
It's a sport. I'm a fan. Enough said. So, take your alumnus snobbery elsewhere.

It is a weird combination but I grew up watching South Carolina and Georgia football. I love both programs. I almost transferred to South Carolina after my freshman year of college but decided to join the military. I could care less what people think about fans pulling for a team that has never attended or graduated from that school.
