Besides, this thread is about honoring and respecting Saban.
I have no problem with that. He was a good man at LSU and continues as a good man at Alabama. His players from both schools absolutely LOVE him! That tells you a lot.

Well, we probably shouldn't explore that avenue. What modern man, anywhere, has the dignity, class, and honor of men from that time? Most men that dress extremely well today are gay.
Well played!

Good for you, Swamp Angel. A lot of LSU fans don't like him just because he is short but, that shouldn't matter so much. Acadian lore says that short people kill crops and poison wells and I think some of that superstition has seeped into LSU fandom at large, not just the Cajun LSU fans.
As you say, there has hardly ever been a player that he has coached that hasn't had really good things to say about him.
For him, it isn't about the money or the fame or even the wins. For Saban, it's all about developing the player and giving them a chance to succeed at life.
His father did the same thing for poor, disadvantaged, and isolated players who would have never had a chance at life if not for their coach.

You misinterpreted the whole thing, ZA206. I'm not begging others to cheer for Bama. I'm letting everyone know that they too can support Nick Saban in his race to unsurpassed greatness.
You can join us; you don't have to stand on the sideline trying to call a time out. Join the Alabama fans and the A&M fans and the Georgia fans and the LSU fans and even the auNecks and let's give Saban a little extra push.
He deserves it.

Come on, why in the world would anyone want Clemson to win this game? That doesn't make any sense, bro.

I wasn't alive at the time but, I've found photos online with LSU fans running to meet Bryant at Tiger Stadium. Bombarding him with requests for autographs. He used to pose with Mike the Tiger whenever he came to town because the mascot would run across the field to meet him. LSU cheerleaders would mob Bryant and would have to be eventually told to go back to their sideline, the game was about to start.
Everyone adored Bryant. And don't let them fool you, auNeck fans cried like little babies when Coach Bryant died and cherished him almost as much as Bama fans. There were as many auNecks lining the roadways and byways of Alabama to catch a glimpse of his funeral as there were Bama fans.
And that is all I am asking for Saban, you know, some admiration from everyone for what he has done and what he has achieved.
He is the best person and the best coach in college football today and due to our modern day angst and immaturity, many can't see that.

Arrogance? I think you are the first person I've heard suggest that a Bama fan could ever be arrogant. We are the most humble and grateful fans in the United States.
I think it has a lot to do with how much we are ridiculed and belittled by other fan-bases. A lot of us of live in fear of being made fun of because of where we were born or the team we support.
Therefore, due to this, just about all of us are salt of the earth type people who always wish the best for everyone because we know how it feels to be taunted.
