Barring a major offensive meltdown, Alabama is on pace to average more than 30+ points per game this season. If it continues that way, it will be the first time in school history that Alabama has averaged 30+ points per game on offense for four consecutive years.

Just food for thought. And speaking of McElwain haters, it's been a while since I have seen Bench McElroy on here. Where has he been?

The real question is, "does anybody care about McElwain enough to hate him"?

Answer: no.

30 points per game has more to do with your defense and quality of opponent than it does Jim McElwain IMO.

I guess you haven't been paying much attention to the Alabama fans on the SEC Rant for the past 2 1/2 seasons?

The quality of opponent never stopped us from averaging below 30 points per game before.

What was the average in '09 when the defense was that good?

32. 1 points per game.

But in 2010, when the defense wasn't as good, we averaged 35.1 points per game. As of right now, we are averaging 37.7 points per game.

I have not seen many haters on this forum, maybe a couple vocal ones. Most coaches will have doubters, can't please everyone all the time. I think the overwhelming majority of Bama fans support McElwain.

Bench McElroy
Brad Pitt

Those are the main two. It's becoming pretty obvious they have no clue about football though.

What am I missing here? I figured yall would have averaged 40, but over 30 is good nonetheless.

Maybe you forgot that Saban is coaching. He shuts down the offense with just about any size lead in the second half. If it were not for some long TD runs up the middle in the fourth qtr. the scoring avg would be lower.

McElwain only has control over our offense until we get a 7-10 point lead. I don't think he has control over it at all when we are playing a team that our backups could beat.

My only complaint about Saban always has been and always will be that he doesn't trust the offense enough.
