BIG Ten CBS starts this year.
SEC ESPN starts 2024. CBS SEC ends after this year and 3:30 games move to ABC.
Is CBS carrying both conferences 2023?
Confused about the CBS 3:30 time slot.
*Edit - Looks like Big Ten contract starts 2023 but keeps SEC CBS slots for this year.

Starting with the 2023 season, the Big Ten will share the 3:30 ET window on CBS with the SEC before taking over that package completely in 2024, and Big Ten games will air in prime time on NBC.
NBC has identified Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge as the broadcast tandem for its B1G on NBC package.
CBS has indicated its No. 1 crew of Brad Nessler and Danielson will follow the network from the SEC to the Big Ten when the SEC contract expires in 2023.

CBS, which will be in the final year of its SEC deal in 2023, will air seven Big Ten football games in various windows that season before expanding to a full schedule of 14-15 games annually from 2024-29.
Not sure how or if this changes the normal SEC 3:30 plus 2x 8:00pm games.
Assume they will just put big ten at 12:00 or slots around 3:30.

Is cbs getting the #1 big ten game or fox keeps the noon kickoff as top game?

As far as I understand it, for 2023, CBS still has the rights to the SEC Game of the Week and night games. I guess they can choose to run that or sell it off and broadcast a bigger Big Ten matchup instead?
Honestly, it's not really clear (at least to me).

The 2023 season will be the final one with the SEC Game of the Week being televised on CBS by Gary Danielson and Brad Nessler.
However, it is certainly a benefit for them to have the Big Ten work with them so they can still fulfill their SEC commitments in 2023; that SEC package is very valuable, and it will help CBS’ numbers to not have to pass it on elsewhere, even if it poses some juggling challenges with their new Big Ten content.
It makes sense for the Big Ten to be flexible here, too. This is only for one year, and while it means their ideal Fox (noon)/CBS (afternoon)/NBC (night) setup may not be fully in place in year one of this deal, they’ll still be getting CBS checks, CBS promotion, and CBS games. If this plays out as reported, it will lead to a slightly weird 2023 season for CBS, but that’s better for them than having to get rid of their lucrative SEC package a year early.
Beginning in 2024, the new ESPN-ABC television rights deal goes into effect. Among the changes for the SEC include moving the top game to the 3:30 time slot on ABC.

I believe this is the case for 2023.
We need some charts showing who-does-what to clarify all of this.

JetDawg likely be along shortly with some data and stats to confirm.
Looked around but since the SEC contract is still in place..rolling with nothing changes just some big (little brother) ten games surrounding.

NBC has Jac Collinsworth and Noah Eagle for primetime games. Forgive me, but I'd rather not listen to children call football games.

Gary Danielson is gonna miss drooling over Florida and Auburn every week

It’s complicated to be sure.
For the most part it will be Fox (Noon), CBS (3:30), NBC (Prime Time). FS1 and B1G Network as well.
Sounds like Fox will have control over who gets what. That must be where a bid process is involved.
As for 2023 the B1G will likely have some 2:30/3:30 games on CBS possibly even before any SEC games are shown.

Fox will carry 24-32 football games per season during the agreement, while NBC will carry 14-16 games on its linear network and eight games per year on Peacock. Beginning in 2024, CBS will carry 14-15 Big Ten games per season. The Big Ten and Fox will coordinate a selection order for games.

All three networks will carry future Big Ten football championship games. Fox, which will remain the Big Ten's primary broadcast partner and has carried the title game since its inception in 2011, will broadcast the championship in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029 (in addition to the 2022 game). CBS will carry the game in 2024 and 2028, and NBC will in 2026.

The 2023 season will be unique for college football fans watching on CBS. The network will broadcast both SEC and Big Ten games before transitioning to a full Big Ten schedule in 2024. The seven Big Ten games airing on CBS in 2023 will be an addition to a full schedule of 15 SEC games, including the SEC Championship Game, that season. McManus said at least a couple of the Big Ten games airing on CBS next season would be scheduled for Weeks 1 and 2. Those are open windows because the SEC on CBS typically begins in Week 3. Big Ten games may also be shown on Black Friday as well as part of an SEC-Big Ten doubleheader on certain Saturdays.

Far as I can tell, the 3:30 slot is a lock for SEC 2023 on CBS every week and they will schedule some big ten games around.
I believe the few CBS doubleheaders are still in place unless those get sold to ESPN.

yes, the ABC/ESPN games will begin at 3:30 EST alongside the CBS games for 2023. What I understand is once the SEC moves the 2:30 SEC game will be covered by ABC and the 6PM game will be ESPN. CBS has no plans to have an 11 AM kick game and will compete directly with ABC for the 3:30 PM slot. Fox will do whatever it is they do. ESPN2, SEC network will continue as they have done.

Maybe with the exception of weeks 1 & 2.

When was the last time Florida got a CBS 3:30 spot, other than the annual UGA game?
I ask the same for Auburn.
Gary "Slobs" because CBS has always gotten the first pick of games every week, so there's usually some hotshits on the field during his broadcast, doing hotshit things. Gary is probably the fairest color announcer in modern times.

What have you been watching? Dudes more of an obvious Bama homer than Eli Gold.

I know that the BigTen will be on CBS at 2:30 for the first three weeks since the SEC on CBS doesn't start until Week 4.
After that, I assume a lot of their games will be moved to Paramount+ or get moved to 11 AM or 6 PM.

Not gonna lie. I’m gonna enjoy him having to call Golden Gophers vs Illini.

Always a controversial subject, but in my case I agree.
I think ultimately he's a huge fan of college football, and calls games exactly the way he sees the storylines unfold, including what teams are doing well, or what other teams might need to do to win.
If you're an opposing fan, you might perceive this as biased. A lot of people prefer to hear their own announcer and aren't used to the other team getting compliments during the broadcast, or criticisms of their team's performance.
As with all of us, his age is catching up with him now, but during his prime I enjoyed most of his work, and thought he did a great job for the SEC — although I'm sure many will vehemently disagree with that statement.
