Arkansas is in the top half of every category. How?

Per the SECstatcat page Rakeem Boyd is 3rd among SEC running backs with > 75 carries in yards before contact

Yards Before Contact Per Rush
1. D'Andre Swift (UGA) (3.58)
2. Najee Harris (BAMA) (2.93)
3. Rakeem Boyd (ARK) (2.92)
4. Rico Dowdle (USC) (2.53)
5. Ty Chandler (VOLS) (2.52)

However, he is 13th out of 14 in yards after contact per carry
Yards After Contact Per Rush
1. Tevian Feaster (USC) (4.21)
2. Clyde Edwards-Helaire (LSU) (4.20)
3. Rico Dowdle (USC) (3.33)
4. D'Andre Swift (UGA) (3.25)
5. Lamichael Perine (FLA) (3.14)
13. Rakeem Boyd (ARK) (2.60)
14. Scottie Phillips (OM) (2.36)

As a % of total YPA, Rakeem Boyd has the highest Yards Before Contact as a % of total YPA of any running back in the SEC

1. Rakeem Boyd (52.9%)
2. D'Andre Swift (52.5%)
3. Najee Harris (49.9%)
4. Ty Chandler (49.1%)
5. Scottie Phillips (45.5%)

I hate Owens got hurt but the OL looks night and day different with Dickerson Neal and Brown in the middle. I like our OL against any DL in CFB.

LSUs OL is leaps and bounds better than that crap they put on the field last year.

However - they are #110 in power success rate.

It would help greatly if UGA ran play action on 3rd or 4th and short even one time. Right now we’re running straight into bad numbers every time.

Qb can get killed on play action in that scenario. Playqction against a blitz is asking for trouble.

If the defense is already jumping the line of scrimmage on the snap, why do you need play action? It accomplishes the same thing.

which was pretty much 100% injuries. lsu started a different combo 7 out of the first 9 games.

They've also been able to play to strengths with the offense. The pass protection is pretty average, but Burrow doesn't generally sit back there for real long, and the run blocking is good.

Must have filtered out the garbage time from the SCar game...Including the OTs. .

From the UGa stats ...they lead in most categories
ETA : virtually the entire game was garbage time from UGA perspective

And they had almost identical stats rushing vs USC and Clemson did vs UNC and both are rated in the top 3 in Opportunity Rate and Line Yards.

Except the most important stat: Clemson won the game where they underperformed, and UGA did not.

Is it just me, or the premise of these stats suck azz? So the guard pulls and pancakes the end and springs the back for a 30 yard gain, and it doesn’t count for the line...hilarious. So every line’s basically bad...3 yards a carry is crap!

I could be reading this wrong...

it only took you 1 paragraph to realize this.

But you hit submit anyway.

I see what you mean here, and you certainly aren’t wrong. I guess every advanced football metric has obvious holes. I personally like FO’s philosophy on this one.

A guard pulling and springing a RB for 30+ could be a bit of a statistical anomaly in comparison to a running back just making guys miss once he gets to the 2nd/3rd level of the defense on 30+ yard runs.

Ex: CEH’s run early in the UF game.
