Foley Field opened in 1966. Why is it suddenly this year that it's the park, not the hitters?

It’s always been a hitters park. People talk about it more this year because UGA is actually good now. Take it as a compliment

314 ft rf fence
355 right center

Are you not at all worried that those balls you've feasted off of for ~40games this season won't get 35ft near the wall in the park you're trying to win a Natty on next week?

I dont have a dog in the fight. We were manhandled by your team, but Omaha is a completely different animal.

Don't care when it opened or how many homeruns they hit now or then, full turf baseball field should disqualify you from playing D1 baseball.

It’s always been a hitters park. Georgia fans are just all of a sudden triggered because of it. Helps that they have good hitters as well.

Welcome to being good. LSU fans are so obsessed with this for some reason. Been listening to it for years now

It's earned in Tennessee's case. You have the smallest field in the conference.

We hit more home runs on the road this year than at home in conference play. It wasn't even close.

We lost only one SEC series this year. It was due to great pitching from the opposing team shutting down our bats. It was at Foley Field.

But don't let that stop you.

Again. I’ve yet to see a post that Georgia is not a good baseball team. You have a hitter friendly ballpark. That’s it. It’s not even an insult. Just that your numbers are slightly elevated hitting wise because of it.

Yall are 3 outs away from being disqualified for the rest of the season.

Come on man. It's obviously meant to say it inflates our offense and we won't do crap in Nebraska. But again, we were better on the road? So why is that?

FYI, for comparison.
quote:

Charles Schwab Field Omaha, home of the College World Series (CWS), features spacious outfield dimensions of 335 feet down the left and right field lines, 375 feet to the power alleys in left-center and right-center, and 408 feet to straightaway center field.

Gonna pay to have a fast, defensive outfield.

I mean it probably does inflate your offense a bit, doesn't mean Georgia isn't a good team, and can't have success in Omaha.

Your road series were @A&M, @MS State, @Arky, @Ole Miss, @Auburn.

AI ranks the most hitter-friendly parks as:

1. Tennessee
2. Ole Miss
3. Mississippi State
4. Arkansas
5. Florida

So, if that's correct, you got 3 of the most hitter-friendly parks in the conference on your away slate. Thus, it's not surprising that your away stats don't look bad. I'd argue some of those parks are more hitter-friendly than Foley. Let's not forget that being hitter-friendly or not depends on more than just dimensions.

But Georgia is still a good team and will be a good team on any field. Their record speaks for itself.

True story:

Dudy Noble: LF 330 RF 305 Center 390
Georgia’s stadium: LF 350 RF 314 Center 404

So what you're telling me here is we're not even in the top five in the conference but our park is a little league field. Okay.

Because yall are a hell of a team. There were recent years where you did much better home vs away and fans called it out that you may struggle. And you did when it mattered. This is not one of those years yall just have a really good team this year. I’m just saying other fans have recency bias because in years past it was true to some aspects.

I don't think Georgia has a little league field
