All this talk, I just really wish these teams had a common opponent that each team has already played this year to compare stats with... Oh wait, there is.

USC and UF both played Kentucky. Let's take a look at the stats for that game.

UF vs Kentucky; UF wins 29-21
UF Offense: Passing 300yds, Rushing 138yds, Total 438yds
UF Defense: Passing 267yds, Rushing 140yds, Total 407yds

vs.

USC vs Kentucky; USC wins 24-7
USC Offense: Passing 140yds, Rushing 247yds, Total 387yds
USC Defense: Passing 97yds, Rushing 115yds, Total 212yds.

Comparison: UF has a better passing attack, USC has a better run game. Defense, not even close. USC shut down Kentucky on their passing game. Both teams held Kentucky to minimal rushing yards, but USC held them to fewer.

Not to mention, The last UF score was just garbage time after the game was over, and the last Kentucky score against USC was garbage time.

Comparing UK to when UF played them to when USCe played them is dumb.

UF played on the road and Cocky played them at night.

Plus the transitive property is a really weak argument.

Has SC actually flipped a switch the last couple of games and become a much better team? I guess we will see. If that is the case, then all the stat comparisons are meaningless.

That’s fair to say, but people also thinking UFs offense is average and bring up Miami and Kentucky with Franks are being really ignorant.

Kyle Pitts became UFs best offensive weapon once Trask became starter. The entire middle of the field was brought back into the passing game.

Sure I really think South Carolina’s defense is good. Muschamp knows defense and their DL is arguably top 3-4 in the SEC.

I also think if Mullen employs the Auburn game plan where they will use the quick game with 4/5 WR sets with Pitts lined up out wide that South Carolina will have a tough time matching up.

UFs WRs aren’t on the level of Alabama’s but they made LSUs DBs look silly last week.

Uf's offense vs our defense is where I'm most concerned because idk what strat they're thinking of using. We could play a lot of man free against uga because their wide outs are hot garbage water and we needed to stack the box to stop the run.

Your wide outs are definitely better and your ol doesn't seem to get the same push uga does so idk that we'll need to go as much man. Mullen can dial up plays tho. Mullen vs muschamp should be entertaining

OL has been garbage all year but they did start to play better against Auburn in the 4th Q and last week against LSU.

UF also gets Pierce back this week, who arguably has been our best RB all year, but did not play at LSU because of a concussion he had against Auburn.

Nothing definitive but I’d assume both Zuniga and Greenard are out.

I think Moon also got banged up really good against LSU last week but my guess is he will try to go.

We’ll probably have a lot of young guys on the DL play this week like Bogle and Chatfield.

Plus it doesn't take individual matchups into account. Comparing what UF or SC's defense did against KY's rushing game or passing game says nothing about how they will do against the other teams rushing or passing attack as they players they will be facing are different.

Yeah hillinski is practicing but idk if I'd send him out there not being able to elude Grantham sending the house

That has to be Grantham's game plan if Hillinski plays. If the Gators are without Grenard and Ziniga they will not get pressure without blitzing.

Agreed. Grantham is going to test Hilinski's mobility early and often. I expect to see South Carolina run a lot of screens and short routes to take best advantage of Ryan's quick release.

The X factor here is Joyner, what I think is he starts and there’s a game plan with him especially taking advantage of the dline issues at Florida with the option game. Much more mobile and can make Grantham pay for blitzing him

I watched the game and honestly thought Muschamp made the wrong decision to play Hilinski when the kid was clearly already hurt. I would be very disappointed if he played Hilinski if he's still somewhat hobbled. Especially since he's clearly the Quarterback of the future, really no reason to risk his knee if SCAR isn't going to win the SEC this year.

With the help of an unlikely source, I realized this year's UF team is on track to do what USC's 2012 team did:

2012 USC schedule:

USC 35 UGA 7
LSU 23 USC 21
UF 44 USC 11

2019 UF schedule:

UF 24 AU 14
LSU 42 UF 28
UF TBD USC TBD

Florida should be able to win this game by double digits. Florida has better talent and better game day coaches. Losing to Muschamp when you have more talent is embarrassing.
