Mullen said a few weeks ago he sometimes made up spring numbers like this. It's not surprising to see it happen now.

Not really. SOS only got 'awesome' after he left Florida for the NFL and returned to SC and a lot of the reason why is that 1. he was an old codger by then and 2. SC wasn't the steamroller that he had going at Florida.
People have romanticized the Spurrier of old and conflated it with the Spurrier of today.

call me crazy but I highly doubt someone in UF's athletic department sat down adn counted out every game we've played since 81. Mullen didn't say anything in that regard, nor did anyone at UF in any official capacity.
