I've had a bunch of you laugh at my statement without providing any argument as to why I hypothetically am wrong.

Probably because you are saying Percy Harvin was more valuable than the greatest football player in Florida Gator history.... That probably has something to do with it..... maybe..... I dunno..

I know it doesn't match up with SEC cupcakes like Tennessee, Missouri, and Kentucky, but only Bama gets those kind of bridge schedules.

That's because it was a silly statement. There is no debate among serious football fans as to which player was more crucial to Florida's success that season.

Do you ever post about things not involving Alabama or schedules?

06? Tebow
07? Tebow
08? Harvin

Tebow in 08 barely had to do half as much as he did in 07 for the offense.

What is an OSU fan doing in here?

I have an ongoing hypothesis that he is actually a LSU fan. Either that or he is extremely jealous of Bama's success in relation to OSU's (seeing as even during the Tressel years, they were never at the level that Bama is now).

Yeah but BAMA also gets ATM, LSU, AU, Arky (the last two are usually good), Ole Miss (trending up), Miss. State (was 8-0) when we played last year.

It's both.

Do you honestly think Harvin was more important than Tebow? Do you not give any credit to Tebow for the success he had and think a offense with John Brantley and a healthy Harvin is a better Florida offense?

UF played 5 solid teams that year and Harvin averaged a little over 100 yards of total offense in those and had 6 TD's. Tebow took over and won games against elite teams without Harvin and had 17 total TD's in those games.

My god. I said in 08 that Harvin was more valuable to the offense than Tebow was.

In 06 and 07, Tebow was definitely more important. But in 08, UF relied more on Harvin, Hernandez, Demps, Rainey, and Moody than they did on Tebow.

I know you said that, and it's completely untrue. 2008 UF beat Bama by double digits without Harvin. Do you think they could have done that without Tebow? Do you think John Brantley and Harvin beat OU?

lol @ Heisman winner and one of the most dominate players in 2008 being less important to his offense than a guy he passes and hands the ball to, a guy who scored 6 total TD's against the 5 best teams on their schedule.

Urban Meyer would Jacksonvillefanincrowd.gif the hell out of you if you tried telling him what you're telling me.

I see this thread got off track quickly. Can't wait to play Bama in '14. Should be a better game than the previous 2.

Playing UF always seems to bring out the best in Bama. It should be a great game. I can't wait either.

The two best programs in the conference should be playing each other much more often.

Which is why we will eventually add a 9th conference game.

What are you talking about? Alabama and Florida have a neutral sight game in Atlanta.
