Outside of a couple of grad transfers who started a few games, every single QB that has started a game for Florida since Tebow has missed multiple games due to injury/suspension (many of them season-ending) or transferred.

After this season, I believe LSU will have faced our back-up QB in something like 7 out of the last 10 meetings.

This could be a blessing in disguise. I really think Trask could be the answer for you. He looked really good yesterday. much more poised than franks. He threw the ball very well.

Trask was set to possibly take over the starting job last year after Franks was benched against Missouri... Trask promptly broke his foot in practice that week.

Almost matched Franks numbers in one quarter of play vs. three.

I don't feel great because he doesn't have the same amount of reps as Franks, and really, for another discussion:

How in the frick did the staff not know that Trask was better and didn't give him the lion's share of the reps over the past season and a quarter?

Anyway, I digress: He's going to have some bad games going forward, but I prefer how he plays over Franks 1,000%.

Also nice to see our QB get a touchdown and just go hand the ball off to the ref for a change, do a quick celebration and get off of the field.

Is there any real QB behind Trask in case he does not pan out? As a redshirt junior...I think...has he played at all before yesterday? Of course, with UT next.............

He played against Missouri last year and against the FCS teams. Hasn't started a game since Middle School.

Tennessee will be the first game he has ever started.

Emory Jones

Very good runner and big arm. Inexperienced though, talented kid though

IIRC, he was a highly rated recruit. Why Mullen insists on sticking with franks is beyond me.

I mean, I guess he sees them every day in practice and has more information....but Trask really looked solid when he came in. It seemed like the whole team got a lift and a boost of energy when he was taking snaps.

I honestly believe he will do good things for Florida. I am a little surprised Emory Jones is not getting more snaps, though. I know he was raw coming out of HS, but he has a lot of talent, too.

Emory you can see he still doesnt read the field well passing. He will start eventually. Just not yet unless forced to. Mullen said he will play though so we will see him some going forward.

Wait, what?

How do you get recruited out of HS as the backup QB on your team?

Trask is the complete opposite of highly-rated recruit. Dude had scholarship offers from the likes of McNeese and Lamar.

That's the question. It's amazing. because the whole mood of the game changed when trask came in. After the fist couple of snaps, I knew Kentucky was in trouble. Mullen needs to give Trask some easy routes and safe plays for a bit to give him some experience, but he looked really good yesterday.

Maybe, but your defense can maybe overcome a couple fo bad performances. And I agree...Trask just looked better than Franks. When franks was in there i was waiting on the dumb play he was going to make...because I knew it was coming. I never got that feeling with Trask.

Yeah. I could do without a lot of the mugging players do today. All f the poking their chest out and crossing their arms, and crap. They should act like they've been there before.

Had to go look him up...and you're right. I don't know why I was thinking he was a high 4*.

I think Trask will get you farther this year than with Frank's. Plus, at least the rest of us fans of the SEC won't hate you as much without Frank's running around after every touchdown like Baker Mayfield

Who was a highly rated recruit? Trask ? He never started a game in high school and wasn’t highly recruited. Frank was the starter because he had more experience and talent . Trask arm is weak , hopefully Mullen can hide it with great play calling .

but they want to quit playing y'all.

At least some of their fans realize what beating UF can do for recruiting and rankings.
