Not butthurt at all--I'm thankful. We upgraded.

I’m not trying to troll here, but seriously without one game being played how are you so sure you upgraded? I’m not saying you are wrong I’m honestly interested how you come to that conclusion?

This offseason is pretty rough.

I am trying to participate but there is only so much I can do.

If anything I'm more salty about the LSU game that year rather than the Florida game.

It's not like Florida had a fluke play or something spectacular that won them that game, we just missed all our field goals yet we only needed one to win it.

MSU is mainly butt hurt that they have become our minor league system. We have hired their DC , AD and their god of football head coaches.

Impossible. It was causa MSU and Mississippi that Mullen couldn’t recruit.

At least that was the the consensus of tRant a few months ago.

Moorhead is objectively a better offensive coordinator than Mullen. No question. He is more intelligent than Mullen, and fits in to the MSU culture better. Too early to really gauge his recruiting ability, but right now he has a better class of commitments than Mullen could ever muster even though it remains to be seen how well he manages to hold to them through signing day.

There is a chance that this will not translate into the mediocre on field success that Mullen had, but its not a very high bar to reach.

So your most winning coach in school history only produced mediocre on field results for MSU standards to you? So every other coach you ever had was a bad coach? Do you like the team he left you this year? Do you think Mullen did anything well while at MSU? Also how is Moorhead objectivly the better OC when Mullen is the one with 2 national title rings? I mean I may have no idea what I’m talking about but I thought what Mullen accomplished at State was impressive regardless of how his UF tenure goes, but that’s just me.

Bama fans: a little butthurt that they aren't a good rival in the East anymore and they ruined a favorite former Bama OC

Why would be butthurt about that?

Florida didn’t “ruin” McElwain. They just took him for a test drive at a big boy school and found out he couldn’t cut it at a P5 school.

I’m thrilled that it was them, rather than us in a few years.

Just look at it as the reverse test drive that LSU did for us with Saban.

Well let's see about that. Mullen did just fine finishing up our class in 2018 so I am not so sure your guy closed very well. For 2019 Moorehead is off to a good start and had 5 commits since he was hired but 3 are from Miss and 3 are DE's. So is it really him or did he get 3 State fans to commit and a couple of other guys? Getting off to a good start in a marathon is nice but it don't mean jack shite.

I'm not running down Moorehead, he may turn out to be a great coach, but it think we are a little premature crowning him just yet.

And the Mullen can't recruit trope isn't true whatsoever. We just had 3 3* recruits get upgraded to 4*s and another 4* the other day.

The people judging a coach by his April Commitments are retarded.

Mullen's year 1 commitments vs. other year 1 commitments in April is better than: Meyer, Swinney, Herman, Saban and dominating Scott Frost.

This isn't to say he'll finish amazing, but...

It's fricking not even Summer yet, let the man get a year under his belt before saying he's a bust.

Downvoted because of UF fans being butthurt at your post?

I thought it was solid.

Mullen is not our winningest coach in school history, and his results were mediocre by anyone's standards, and should not be that difficult to duplicate. Yes, MSU has a history of hiring really bad coaches. Mediocre was an improvement for us.

Mullen did well at almost everything off the field. His offense sucks, and he is a lousy in-game coach. His recruiting was an improvement over what MSU had seen in the past, but he needed to grow some balls and go head to head with the big boys for some top recruits. Moorhead is doing that, and winning some of those battles. (at least he has commitments right now...)

Naotional title rings are not an objective measure of the quality of an OC. You can have a lousy OC and still win a championship. Conversely, there are plenty of great OC's who have never won championships.

Mullen won championships running the Head Coach's offense. Its all he knows, and he doesn't even run it very well. Moorhead has run a variety of offenses in his career, and is now running an offense he developed himself...and his play calling has been considered one of his strengths his whole career.

I didn't say Mullen was a bad coach. I said Moorhead was an upgrade.

MSU Fans: We're going to beat Florida down with the upperclass team Mullen built from the ground up.

Also MSU fans: Mullen doesn't know how to run a team.

Pick one.

I don't know any MSU fans who ever said Mullen doesn't know how to run a team, so I'll go with the Florida beat down.
