Mullen is a better coach than most will admit and his still resides in many craniums around the SEC. In a 12 team playoff scenario, Mullen would have made the playoff his first 3 years at UF. 3/4 top 12 ain't too bad.
Funny thing is it was UGA posters who were saying Mullen > Smart after the 2020 game, not UF posters.

Yep Trask and Pittman really fooled people about what Mullen was building.

Eh maybe he means Miller is back? That and us missing Tillman would be a big deal.

I've never seen such bad luck as what Tennessee has had against Florida these past two decades. It makes you wonder if Voodoo is actually real.
I have no doubt their dline will come out looking like the 80s bears and force Hooker to beat them by himself without his top WR in there now.

I expect them to try snd emulate what Pitt did on defense. Pitt has a better dline though and much better overall defense.
Pitt sold out on the run. Florida can do that too but the only reason Pitt didn't get burnt more is because of uncharacteristic overthrows and drops. You can't count on that. Pitt overall has a better DL.

Yes but Tilman was healthy that game and he is our best WR by far against press coverage unless Bru proves me wrong. Our other guys are talented as hell but do not have that dog in them so to speak.
They will be in press coverage all day on Saturday and will have to physically beat Florida's DBs if they effectively contain our ground game.

We don't need Tillman to win. It makes it harder but he's not magic.

This is Tennessee 's biggest game in forever. Ofcourse I'm watching Florida game tape and ofcourse I'm very concerned that our top wideout is out. You could even argue he is the leader of our offense. Definitely right up there with Hendon.
I still think we win ofcourse, but it just got considerably less of a lopsided victory.
Florida still beat Utah as well and looked good in large stretches against Kentucky. You really don't know what to expect from them. First year new head coached teams are often like that.
What's with the change in attitude? You have been talking indiscriminately about this game all year and how the Vols were going to demolish the Gators and now you are actually making a lot of sense about it and breaking down the game.
I like to pigeon-hole people and you are making it difficult for me to do so.

Florida's DBs are very physical.
Besides Tilman and McCoy, none of our other guys, as talented as they are, have shown the ability to consistently beat press coverage against physical defenses, hence why Hooker was targeting Tilman and Bru the entire Pitt game.
Velus Jones last year could do it. I'm hoping Hyatt steps up his game to another level this weekend as he is a huge deep threat whenever he manages to break free.

It's just potentially a much different game without Tilman in there. We are deep at WR talent wise, but our other guys besides McCoy are too finesse unless proven otherwise this weekend.
It presents a potential matchup problem for us and evens the playing field a lot so to speak. We are going to need to blow up the UF defensive line more consistently now for an easy victory.

Can you find a quote for this? I don't remember a single UGA fan ever saying Mullen > Kirby.

Have you seen Bru? And right now, no DB is touching Hyatt. He's too damned fast and always has been. His issues have been the drops last season.

This isn't true. Hyatt is more than a match and will burn those DBs. The others are talented enough. And Hooker force fed Tillman because he wanted his 1000 yard WR to score. That was a mistake.

Hyatt has already stepped up.

That's mildly funny. I mean game planning is what you do, so captain obvious is obvious.
Maybe it's unusual to have to do it against TN?

Hyatt is a stud for sure and potentially our most dangerous wideout.
He hasn't proven to be consistent enough in clutch situations against big opponents though yet for me to boast about him in this game. I trust McCoy more actually although Hyatt looked amazing last weekend....i will wait to see what he can do this weekend.
I'm not saying we won't win lol. But it just turned into a much more dangerous game for us now.

Shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Well yeah no shite, that’s what you’re supposed to do at practice, come up with game plans
Not for Tennersee, the Gators typically just plan to run out of the tunnel and watch the Vols choke.

If we clean up the rushing defense which was atrocious this past week we can beat Tennessee I think.
If AR doesn’t turn the ball over, we win.

If a 12 team playoff were around those years, Mullen would've found a way to choke and miss them.
