List of black coaches born in Africa has to be very, very small.

Florida should be looking for the best man for the job, not some DEI appointment to satisfy a liberal need for a black man to be in charge. If the correct hire is a black man, then that's great

lol Deion would be a worse hire than Billy! Have you watched his teams? Neon is just there to self promote himself and his kids no actual coaching.

I have no issues with an AA coach but making a DEI hire for the sake of inclusivity can’t be afforded when you’ve been wandering the wilderness for the better part of 20 yrs. Why not best available that you can entice?

Curious, would Penn State be off the hook for the $50 million buyout owed to James Franklin if he were hired by another school, let's say by UF?
No idea. I'm sure they would be able to void some of the payout, depending on what the contract indicates.

Was Charlie Strong not head coach there? or was he only DC?
Interim HC for a game

This usually doesn’t work out, but if the Gators want to so limit themselves, I’m all for it.

ETA: I'm just giving UF crap. But if FSU fires Norvell, I would fully expect the noles to make a run at Deion.
Deion Sanders would be a great choice for Florida. He has experience as a head coach of another FBS team, knows football very well, and will have the respect of black players.
Having respect and showing respect is just as important as being some wizard at organization, inspiration, discipline, and implementation of game plans.
Sometimes if players just have fun and are allowed to be themselves, they do much better than following a rigid structure provided by coaches like Saban.
Sander's philosophy is to let players be college students first, to learn and advance in their studies and to graduate, and to just have fun.
They don't come to college to be worked like dogs and not enjoy themselves. If they wanted to do that, they could just skip college and get a job.

It would be a wonderful statement that Florida could make to show that they respect all peoples, no matter their color, and are not still stuck in the 1940's and 50's and 60's like many people think when a school has never had a black head coach.
It's time for Florida and Florida fans to join the modern world and let go of their long held prejudices.

The dude at ND would probably be the best black head coach.
Ugh, I'm not sure who you are talking about? Marcus Freeman is Korean American. Are you talking about an assistant coach at ND?

Why did you just leave it at a black coach? How about browns or yellows? Cmon man, diversity.

If only Black guys were on the table...
I'd take the guy at Southern Mississippi....
He had good teams at Marshall and he has Southern Miss sitting at 5-2 right now. They've been horrible for a long time.
Granted he hasn't been at a big time program... but the guy looks like he has some chops.
