Mullen takes the podium at 3:30. Where is Clay Travis to ask the off the wall question about rumors when you need him

I'd be shocked if someone doesn't try and dig in on it at this point... if it's a UF reporter I assume they'll use kid gloves to not jeopardize their access.

Pat Dooley and Mike Bianchi don’t have the balls

Suspensions -2, Title IX -1. That’s the scuttlebut

Get Brett McMurphy; he will ask any question. Just see what happened to Urban last year

Cmon now, I don’t want Mullen run off. I think he’s doing a bang up job in Gainesville!
I just want someone to ask him an awkward question about a rumor that might have legs in hopes we get an awkward answer to point and laugh at.

So the rumored suspensions I’m seeing pop up elsewhere are DT TeDarell Slaton, S Brad Stewart, and S John Huggins
Gators care to weigh in on what you’re hearing, how valuable these guys are, etc?

No players or suspensions are confirmed at this time. Two of the players mentioned in posts here are their season outlooks per 247
Preseason 25 Most Important Gators of 2019: No. 25 STAR John Huggins.
Huggins played as a true freshman last year as a safety and didn’t see much time on the field on the defensive side of the ball. He was used mostly as a special teams’ player in 2018.
Things changed for him in the spring and when he was moved to the STAR position, basically the nickel spot in the Gators’ defense under Todd Grantham.
Huggins played well near the line of scrimmage, but also showed big time play making ability in the spring practices and that culminated in a pick six in the spring game in front of Gator fans.
Huggins who really had nothing to prove at that point after a very strong spring thought the big play was big to show the coaches that he can do it on a bigger stage than just a regular practice.
“It’s big. It’s big for me, just letting the coaches know I can play, that I can solidify myself here at the University of Florida, at DBU, and it’s just a great feeling,” he said following the scrimmage.
Huggins said he feels much better playing at STAR rather than just one of the safety spots, mainly because he plays closer to the line of scrimmage and he can play the game with a little more physicality.
“Really (I just like) getting my hands on guys,” he said. I like getting my hands on guys. I think I’m a pretty physical DB, and I like jamming at the line of scrimmage, I like playing man. There’s a lot more man. You’re on an island so it’s really just a lot of one-on-one and I like that. I like that responsibility.”
Last season was tough without getting on the field as much as he wanted to, but he’s been able to get through it.
“Really (I’m) just keeping a positive mindset,” he said. “I mean, last year in the fall I got a little down on myself because there was a lot of guys ahead of me. Just really keeping a positive mindset and just keep working, keep getting better, and keep working my craft.”
Change from Pre-Spring: (Unranked)
Huggins was lost in the shuffle last year. The staff must have liked him because they played him on special teams helping him at least develop by playing during games. He turned that into one of the strongest springs of any on the entire team, maybe in the top two.
Huggins would be listed higher except he and Trey Dean are both manning one position and actually should compete heavily for the starting STAR spot.
Preseason 25 Most Important Gators of 2019: No. 19 Safety Brad Stewart.
Stewart doesn’t seem to get enough pub in my opinion as a guy that had the second most starts of any safety on the team a year ago with seven. He was the biggest play maker among the group and had what is mostly considered the biggest single play of the year when he returned an interception for a touchdown in the waning minutes of the Gators win over LSU. It was a score that put the Gators up by eight with not much time left on the clock and part of a big win against a quality opponent.
Stewart had garnered some preseason All-SEC looks, but not on the first or second teams.
He’s a guy that knows how to play the ball while in the air and knows how to catch it and what to do with it after he catches it.
A terrific athlete, Stewart finished with 41 tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups, two quarterback hurries and one forced fumble in 2018. Those are pretty good numbers for a safety and a guy that missed two games during the year.
He’s pretty humble about the position he is in.
“Really I just come out and try to perform my best,” he said during the spring when asked about the big plays last year. “I just try to do my assignment and do my job and just make plays when my name is called.”
Pro Football Focus rated him very high among the safeties in the SEC. It is something he took in, but is quick to just let it go as well.
“I definitely see it, but with the coach I have, he tells me not to get too big-headed, don’t worry about what everybody says,” Stewart said. “Just be myself and come out and show everybody I can play, week in and week out.”
Change from Pre-Spring: (Up from #24)
I moved Stewart up mainly because no other safety really made a move this spring. They weren’t bad, but they didn’t show the play making ability we saw from Stewart last season. This man’s opinion is that he needs to get on the field more often.

Stewart probably starter at FS. Huggins is backup at Star, Slaton is our space eating NT that plays about 25 snaps a game.
