CNN creates disinformation every day. Stop pretending like people voted for Trump because of a handful of Russian twitter bots with 30 followers.

Also there's no proof anyone worked with Russia that was part of the campaign. They have a bunch of guys on fraud in Ukraine and they strong armed testimonies.

But hey if you're Hillary you don't even have to be interviewed under oath while your buddies in the FBI pander for you to get elected.

not like they were that far off in 2016.

I’m sorry, but 538 was extremely far off. Yes, it was about 70% to 30% as was mentioned elsewhere in this thread, but that was just the chance given for trump to get 275. The % chance 538 gave for trump to break 300 (you know, what actually happened) was something like 7-8% to 92%. The revisionist history to defend silver being totally wrong so his followers can save face is sad and I’m sure people will still say he is “right” for having non-zero odds at 8%.

Yeah. Was coming to post this. They were the only ones saying don’t be surprised if Hilary loses. Everyone else said there was no way she loses.

Worst part of the 2016 election is that we can't have a thread about statistical analysis without some redneck coming in and saying something about Hillary Clinton.

There is irony in this post.

You do realize 5 wealthy Americans have already been indicted for this all of which worked with Trump's campaign. Of those 5, 4 of them pled guilty and are now cooperating. This is in the United States...when was the last time a guilty rich man pled guilty. Answer: wealthy people don't plead guilty unless they have no other option in this country.

None of them pled guilty to “collusion” or anything of the sort. It’s all Micky Mouse charges like “making false statements to the FBI.”

Boy, it’d be nice if that law applied to both parties, wouldn’t it? Anyway, Papadopoulos is still a poop head.

ETA: and this is the last thing I’ll say: you’d think if it was so “obvious,” as you claim, there’d be more serious charges and Trump would be gone right now. All it is is the Left holding onto the dream of impeachement that’ll never happen.

It is, and I apologize for being antagonistic. I couldn't bring myself to vote for Trump or Hillary, but Donald Trump is now the POTUS. Job numbers are up. Accentuate the positive and keep a vigilant eye out.

My first point itt was that situations like elections cannot be predicted without the analyzer assigning values to certain input. Unless he conducted a huge survey of binary data.

FiveThirtyEight obviously placed more emphasis on the misleading data and factors. I don't think they intended to be wrong or mislead .

The same can be said for predictions of games. Values have to be placed on team records, and percentages, and points scored, etc. Sometimes those stats are misleading

It is possible to commit a crime against the government and not collude. It is also possible to cover up a crime without collusion. Stay tuned.

FYI when you plead...you accept a lesser charge to avoid the worse crime.

Great Read

It helps you understand how and why Russia did what they did...it had nothing to do with Trump other than he was the best option to accomplish what was in their best interest. More might come out but for now for the life of me I can't understand why any American wouldn't be upset at what happened and those who worked with them.

538 actually was more correct than people realize...our enemies also knew that nature of the divide and exploited it to their benefit. #watchRedDawn The enemies don't live here.

There is evidence and all branches of the nations intelligence arms agree with each of those 3 statements at some level. It isn't tinfoil stuff.

Let me ask you this simple question, do you think this is the first country or the first time Russia tried to influence an election?

This is normal shite.

Now prove Trump was in on it, which there is no evidence of.

BTW, the US influences every election in the world. Saudi Arabia gave Hillary Clinton millions of dollars, is that not influencing the election?

No they dont. Stop letting Trump tell you what to think

There were hundreds and maybe thousands of these accounts. I never made an assertion that they changed the election. There is no way to really tell

Don Jr. met with Russian operatives and he and his father later lied about why they met with them. Manafort et al were working for the Russians in the Ukraine.
