That means they don't think much of Oklahoma

There were a LOT of OU fans there. I was a bit surprised, after all, Starkville is in the armpit of Mississippi and in the middle of nowhere.

I think there’s two sides to it:
1. yes, that was a disappointing crowd for State. 4-2 coming in and most knew that Kamario and Fluff would be back. Important home game. I was surprised at how bad the crowd was, because they’ve had good crowds already this year. Specifically the Mizzou game. Bama was full as well but a lot of Bama fans made the trip over. The Bama and LSU losses being as bad as they were, combined with the Kamario injury, apparently did a lot of damage to morale.
2. State fans have next to zero belief in Jeff Lebby or the program in general. Once they lose to Texas on Saturday, State will be 4-26 in the last 30 SEC games. The last few years have basically totally undone all the goodwill that was built up in the Mullen era. This might as well be the same program it was in the mid 2000’s under Sylvester Croom, just with more smoke and mirrors on offense.
Lebby is a losing coach that has done a poor job of reaching out to the fanbase. So State people don’t feel like they have much reason to support his program.
State needs to find its next Mullen ASAP, i.e. a young coach that will come in and get the fanbase fired up and also have some decent results to back it up. Lebby has been far too much “2 steps forward, 3 steps backward”

Armpit of Mississippi, meet Oklahoma, the butthole of America.
