Mine was $325 in the early 80's, right after Gold spiked to an all-time high of $850/oz.
I believe now the rings are more than $1,000.00. They are 10k gold (41.7% pure gold), although you have the option to order 14k.
To an Aggie, the rings mean everything. I believe it is the only class ring in the country that is patented. The only way you can get one is to order through the Registrar's Office, which first reviews and approves your transcript.
Then an order is placed through the Registrar and you get your rings delivered at Texas A&M.
It's cool that they engrave your full name in script on the inside of the ring; class year is on the ring.

That's a sign of a pathetic program
They are like USC and Florida state and Tenn. Their biggest accomplishment the last decade has been beating LSU in one regular season game and losing multiple games and not accomplishing a single thing that season. All it is simply is a moral victory at this point.
