How so? I said that I hated to hear that the young man passed. It's an article about a football player dying, but the kid wasn't playing football. One could argue that he may have been better off being monitored and with better health care. The whole point of canceling football is so players don't contract the virus. Well, this kid wasn't playing football and still contracted it. The bottom line is that from a sports discussion perspective, this article is completely irrelevant.

what the frick difference does that make?
Are they football players in May when basically no football activities are going on?
The narrative has been that college football players are immune to complications from covid. "Most don't even know they have it".

How many threads get started on a sports message board about a college student? It's tragic no doubt. But, as I said in my first post that you quoted, is this actually considered a football player? Meaning, is it really sports news?

Yes. They are still training, being monitored and have access to health care. Plus, it isn't May so there's that.

Most don't and again, this guy wasn't a college football player.

There are no absolutes. There will always be exceptions to the rule. The narrative has never been otherwise.

Yep. But the panic-induced circle jerk continues unabated nevertheless.

This was at least somewhat, what I was working off of in my posts.
The original source retracted their statement that the kid at CUP died from Covid 19. However, the sports media had already run with it. Although I have seen a few prominent sports journalists delete their tweets about it.

1. You completely are lying with your first statement
2. It is true that most don’t know they have it

He's not a football player because his team is sitting out this year?
Jim McElwain is in Michigan but he's still a shark humper.

First of all, I didn’t say he was or wasn’t anything.

Perhaps you should get off this board and head over to the politics board if you hate that college football is being played. What are you doing here if it's such an atrocity?

That is correct. He doesn't get the advantages that come with being a college football player.

I was just replying to the last post in the thread Cap

You do realize they are still practicing and doing other football activities, right?

The deceased’s college had not held a practice since march
Run along Mr. Ignorant. Disappear now

I would love to see a link on that. I find your BS suspicious seeing as how that conf. cancelled the season in July.

Cal U's conference, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, suspended all competition for the fall semester in July in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Division II Council followed up in August by canceling fall sports championships.

How ironic.
ETA to the ETA. The B1G and Pac both "cancelled" the season yet they have been doing football activities on a daily basis.

They suspended all fall competition and canceled fall championships. I'm not sure how that proves that they are practicing. I did a quick search and didn't see if they were or weren't practicing. Seems like they wouldn't be able to afford to keep testing players and coaches if they didn't have any revenue coming in.
No. They suspended the season with the possibility of playing in the fall. It isn't canceled. They also didn't cancel their championship games either.

He just wants more time before LSU has to play football again.

yet football activities continued. These colleges are not going to have their athletes sitting around doing nothing. They will be in the weight room working on S&C. They also are allowed 12 hours per week of practice time.

Not only was he not practicing, he wasn’t even on campus as the entire school including athletes is all virtual
But please, continue trying to compare this Division 2 school to the pac and big 10
I’m sorry you couldn’t get a player actually playing a sport to die. I know this upsets you
