It cracks me up that almost every single Mizzou fan was predicting his failure and glad that he left, and all the Arky fans kept telling us we were just jealous that they "took our coach".

In fairness, our rationale of stealing your coach is still valid. Since Mike left, you haven't had a successful season yet. We can still celebrate watching your program crater while ours rises, even if it is slower than we would like

My grandparents were not salty-we ended up with a guy named Dan Devine. That would be the same Dan Devine who coached Mizzou to a win over Broyles in Little Rock in 1963-a game my grandparents attended.

This is not true, the majority of Mizzou fans were very sad to see him go. They were ticked with the way he left (stopped recruiting when we had 3 close NBA players, gave a press conference saying he was staying hours right before leaving) but we were sad to lose a coach that took us to the Elite 8.

No, sugar, Nolan Richardson's system was born there. Mike Anderson=/=Nolan Richardson. He's just not the coach Nolan was.

Anderson was good at UAB. He was food at Missouri. What's holding him back at Arkansas.

I said he is a good coach. I don't think he's as as good as Nolan. And I don't think he's taking anyone to a final four or championship. Just my opinion.

Ummm he never got you out of the first round and you are getting punished for his time there. Both haven't really done anything yet. But at least he hasn't gotten us in trouble with the NCAA.

The AD has held the basketball program back.
It was on shaky ground after Nolan went out, it was looking to rebound after receiving sanctions for incidents that the football and track program participated.
Frank then fricked up the next two coaching hires, while putting funding behind football and behind baseball in the pecking order.
It took over a decade to let the program disintegrate, it was going to take more than a year or two for it to bounce back, especially being last in the sec arms race in basketball at the time, as well as facing sanctions via the apr thanks to the thugs pel brought to the hill.
The practice facility was completed two years after it was promised to be done when CMA took the job, it has to come after the ipf for baseball or vanhorn was going to continue to not win championships. He through a bitch fit and got the backing of certain boosters to get his done first so his players would be warm in February.
As of now, the program is again on firm ground with the apr, is towards the top of the sec in the arms race while recruiting is looking better than it has in 20 years with the next two classes coming up. This was a large part of the job Long hired Mike to do, just as he had done at UAB and cleaned up mizzou post Snyder. If he is replaced he will leave the program in much better shape for the next guy, just as he done at his prior two stops. Again this was a large part of the job he was hired to do, just as Bert was hired to clean up Petrino's mess within he program and with the APR. unfortunately most coaches who do his for schools are fired before they can reap the benefits of their work, but the next guy it's the ground running if the right guy is hired, wrong guy and often programs find themselves in a perpetual cycle of change and "rebuilding".
